Producer Kevin Feige has revealed that Captain America will be the next film for Marvel Studios.
“I have a writer on ‘Captain America’ right now, hoping to get a director on that very soon to get that into the pipeline within the next year. Same thing with ‘Thor,’” Feige told CS. “David Self is writing ‘Captain America.’”
The new movie will mix period with modern day story, portraying the Captain as a “a patriotic propoganda machine on one hand but also being a very human.” So expect Iron Man in May, The Incredible Hulk in June, and then Captain America sometime after that (probably early to mid 2009).

Wait, I’m writing a script to my own Captain America movie. It’s actually pretty good right now.

I know everyone’s gonna hate me for proposing an actor who would take the Captain America Movie characters’ role in a mass mainstream appealing way, but I actually the young blonde hunk from The Fast and The Furious, “Paul Walker” would really add some sexual intensity to a potential film.
He has proven he has fairly decent acting chops where action sequences are required in shoots, but while he doesn’t possess much range or depth in his emotional acting capabilities, he looks fantastic in anything, and could probably fill out the red white n’ blue suit very nicely. And he has that intense stare and sense of rage and conflict behind his eyes that every on-screen hero needs if they are to capture and win the hearts of their audiences.

I think that Bruce Willis should play Captain America…He fits the look and acts like the captain…period
April 3rd, 2008 at 3:12 pm

April 27th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Cena all the way!!!
May 5th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
John Cena is one of the worst actors to ever land a mainsteam movie gig. He would absolutely destroy any hopes of making Captain America a sick movie. HELL NO to John Cena.
May 5th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
i say paul walker!
May 6th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
John Cena to play Steve Rogers!!!
May 8th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
john cena has the face but does not have the talent to pull it off.

Has anyone even given a thought to Mark Wahlberg - acting range, action hero, looks, body… total package. Though, would he take the job?
May 11th, 2008 at 2:54 am
I’m sorry but Captain America should be at least 6′1″ and not shorter than that (Mark Wahlberg is too too short to play the part). Whoever’s going to play Captain America should not be over exposed like Matthew McConaughey and Brad Pitt, must not wear skimpy outfit and elevated boots (like Brandon Routh who ruined Superman — well it’s not his fault really, he was told to wear the outfit, anyway). The actor should be a fresh face and PLEASE let it be American and not Canadian actor or from other country.
May I suggest one of the following?:
Josh Hartnett–> 6′ 3″ (21 July 1978, San Francisco, California),
Charlie O’Connell–> 6′ 3″ (21 April 1975, New York, New York),
Ryan McPartlin–> 6′ 3″ (3 July 1975, Chicago, Illinois)
Joe Michael Burke –> 6′ 2″ (7 September 1973, Illinois, USA),
Josh Duhamel–>6′ 3½” (14 November 1972, Minot, North Dakota),
Eric William Dane–> 6′ 1″ (9 November 1972, San Francisco, CA),
Noah Wyle–> 6′ 2″ (4 June 1971, Hollywood, California,),
Tom Everett Scott–> 6′ 2″ (7 September 1970, Massachusetts), and /or
Matthew Lillard–> 6′ 3″ (24 January 1970, Lansing, Michigan).

There is a reason why Captain America is dead, and it’s because the part of the United States that was “America” is gone.
I can’t figure out how they’re going to pull this movie off in a modern day setting. Captain America has has always been the embodiment of liberty, and justice, even if the United States wasn’t/isn’t. Unless Marvel is really going to get into an amazing story about how Captain America is going to take on big government like, Neo vs the Matrix, attempting to free the US subjects, and restore freedom, they won’t be able to do a modern day story. I guess there is a chance that we could see Captain America spewing propaganda about giving up some liberty in order to be safe.. If Marvel does a “Captain Nationalism”, Patriot-Act-endorsing, version of Steve Rogers, I won’t sit through it.
Have some balls, Marvel. Do it right!

there are actors actually to play these exciting part in Captain america. The one person who has come so close to it is Matt Damon. The difference is the height, thats all,he has the ideas,skills,persuasiveness,e.t.c.Apart from him i will say no one else.Except if they bring in people like Val kilmer, obviousely that is something we don’t want to think about,Van damme unfortunately has past his time and the words that proceed from his mouth is like oh my gush!! it will take years for him to speak like a true born cap america. Vin diesel would have been okay but the head isn’t right. Brat pitt is another solution but the question is,can he do it?Ryan McPartlin is not to much of skill, i think josh hartnett will find the role quite big for him to play.Brenden Fraser is okay,i mean he has the structure and height, the question is,does he have the other characteristics of Captain America,i doubt that. And giving a chance to someone to prove himself is not in the question this is a big film, which will not allow mistake. The person who is to do these most have proved himself worthy of it.And i say Matt is the guy.

Whichever actor is chosen to play Cap (or Thor, etc) They have to be physically imposing enough. Especially Thor. But they also need to be able to ACT. Think for a moment about the success that Marvel has had and the flops. Jackman, Jensen, MacLellan, Stewart, Paquin in X-Men. Downey, Bridges, Paltrow, Howard in Ironman. Think about the new Batman frachise. A good director who respects the genre, a solid script, and ACTORS.
Specifically, Cap needs to be a young man because Steve Rogers was no older than mid twenties when the war started and he tried to enlist and marked 4F. His WWII career was 4 years old. An un-frozen Cap needs to be no older than 30 when they thaw him out in the next movie. Bucky should be no younger than 16 if they use him at all. Paul Walker is the most intriguing name dropped so far.
Last thoughts on casting. Let Matt Damon or Matt McConnheyhaw or Brad Pitt play Hank Pym. You need to be age contemporary with Ioan Grufford (or whatever his name is), Ed Norton and Downey to play a top of your field scientist. That Kevin Durand guy on LOST might make a pretty good Thor. He’s a big dude (6′7″) and appears to have some acting chops, though I read he’s already got a role in the Wolverine movie. Pity.

KARL URBAN…where is any mention of him…he has definite comic book appeal, especially in the THOR asgardian sense…
June 15th, 2008 at 9:41 am
I think that Neal McDonough from “Band of Brothers” and also in “Flags of Our Fathers” should be Captain America. He been in lots of movies and he is a great actor. I see him playing the part the best out of anyone.
June 15th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
About the Neal McDonough guy…You’ve got a great one there man…by looks, he could definitely pull it off - may need some special effects to make him look scrawny before the serum…but yeah, I feel that’s a great choice with and without the mask. Kudos to you Jtmoney…
June 16th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
I think it should be Paul Walker or someone young who is strong and can act. Paul Walker is the best choice.
June 17th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
List:
Jaquiin Fenix
Luke Wilson
Viggo Mortenson
Second on the Bruce Willis
John Cena can suck my left nut
Paul Walker is a pansy
Leanardo DeCrapio has no chance
July 6th, 2008 at 7:11 am
i could see Josh Duhamel maybe the best bet would be to go with an unknown actor
July 11th, 2008 at 3:55 am
Some people seem to loose the fact that these should be set in a Marvel Universe… So what does it matter what the current apathetic tendencies are? I, for one, can’t wait to see what they do… I hope that they can lead it into a great Avengers movie… Of course, we can always hope for more of an Ultimates feel…
July 16th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
BRANDON FRASIER. If you’ve seen “Crash” or “The Air I Breath,” you’ll see that he can act in serious roles even if his history is littered with George of the Jungle and a bunch of The Mummy (and similar) movies. He’s tall enough, I’m sure they’ll be able to get him big enough; you’ve seen what happened to the actors in 300, this is nothing. His voice is American enough. I think he is the perfect actor for the movie.
That said, I LOVE the Bruce Willis idea LOL.
