I can't believe you people are being negative! This is the best trailer I've seen in a long time. So creepy. So cool. I've been watching it several times a day to get my fix. I've been showing it to other people. I love how the music is dream-like and beautiful and terrifying all at once. I love the creepiness of the performances. "Imagine a world where human beings cease to be human." "When you wake up you'll feel exactly the same." It's awesome!!! I can't even imagine what your problem with it is. Maybe you've been taken over by the alien virus???!!

I remember the original movie giving me nightmares. It scared me so much that I wouldn't even watch it now to see if it still gives me the creeps.
So, why have I been looking forward to this one so much? I'm not sure.
I think the trailer did all it needed to do to catch the interest of those not familiar with the original movie. I'm just glad it looks like they're not going to use the pods to complete the transformation. Those were the scariest.
Give it a chance. If you think it's a bad trailer, have hope that it means the movie will be terrific. How many trailers have you seen that were better than the movie? Too many, I'm sure!

wtf is your problem, majority of slashfilm! wtf are you people talking about? MAN... your negativity seems over the top, and somehow off. this trailer does all of the below:
it gives the viewer a quick synopses of the plot by TELLING YOU THAT A SPACESHUTTLE HAD CRASHED TO EARTH POSSIBLY CONTAMINATED WITH SOMETHING, and it then goes on to suggest in a bunch of scenes that this matter is likely responsible for a sudden rash of changes in people. such as their lack of emotion, and a more predatory nature. and nicoles character goes on unaffected and she becomes a part of a small population of people who are also seemingly unaffected and that the only way to stay this way is to stay awake and try to blend in.
visually stimulating scenes include: suicides with the intent of exploiting human emotion- a dubious method used in the capture of the unaffected. or how about zombie-like hords of people closing in on nicole, she crashes and is knocked unconcsious (a no-no) but her sons awake! theyre both very vulnerable at this point! her flooring it with like 20 people hanging off her car. also bums having seizures. take your pick of triumphs in visual stimulation.
best soundbytes: everything...a trailer wouldnt be a trailer unless it had some of the best soundbytes from the movie. otherwise it would be silent, or filled with lines like "what time is it?" or "walk the dog already will ya!" my favorite is "you can fool them. dont show emotion, then they cant tell whos who."
to say the trailer fails on capturing the best soundbytes of the movie shows bias. the thing is revealing soundbyte after revealing soundbyte.

I'm on the fence about the acting being over the top. But the trailer itself
is just plain terrible. Its all over the place. I would say the best
teasers/trailers do 3 things, give the viewer a quick synopses of the plot,
catch the viewers interest with visually stimulating scenes and try to catch the
best soundbytes for the viewer to salivate over. This trailer fails on all 3: its
hard to understand what is going on, the scenes are blah and the dialogue is
trash.

This doesn't mean it will be a terrible movie, they could have just produced the
trailer poorly. Which seems to be a reoccurring trend in Hollywood these
days. The movie itself seems like it could be really good if they keep it as
realistic as the trailer shows, but just from that little teaser it looks to be
another half-assed, rehashed, terrible semi-quasi-remake.

Like so many movies coming out of Hollywood these days, whatever story there might be here seems obfuscated by explosions and spectacle-like scenarios. Of course, they might just be trying to punch interest through the trailer; but, like you, I'm feeling some reservations.

I am pleased to see what looks like Veronica Cartwright in a cameo homage. I love her career.
