The theme song for Michael Bay’s Transformers was exposed on the Sector 7 viral game site. The theme is a riff off the classic “Transformers - more than meets the eye” song which was used in the cartoon and toy television ads. Listen to it below. It’s a little too techno-rock/nu-metal for me, but what do I know? I wouldn’t say it’s terrible, although a few of my friends have. It’s not like they had some awesome source material to turn into a rocking song. What do you guys think? You can also see the original opening/theme song after the jump, thanks to GooTube.
Transformers hits theaters on July 2nd at 8:00pm.

Dude, if they don’t play “The Touch” in the movie, i will break someone’s face!
June 7th, 2007 at 11:26 am
they are not going to be playing “the touch”.. to even expect that is silly. Matter of fact I would set all expectations to a low. So far trailers have been pretty freakin sweet but if you beileve in the positive power of negative thinking, you will not be let down. As far as the current theme goes. I digg it. I really wish die hard fans would stop with the whole..” your ruining my childhood”.. Dont people get that some things that work in a cartoons dont translate well into film and sometimes changes or diffrent perspectives are for the better. So far in the trailers all the soul is there and thats all that matters… bashing the film because optimus prime has a flames or bumble bee being sports car isnt a big deal.
June 7th, 2007 at 11:59 am
Sounds like Linkin Park. Sucks like Linkin Park.
June 7th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
thank you hollywood… keep raping my childhood…
June 7th, 2007 at 12:39 pm
If that song is in the movie I’m already going to hate it.It’s the most stupid song i’ve ever heard.
June 7th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
sounds fan made
June 7th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
It’s not even in the realm of “Ha! That’s kinda cool!’ If it appears at all in the theater, it had better be when the credits are rolling at the end.
June 7th, 2007 at 1:24 pm
I think scott nailed it.. this is definatly a song I can visualize when the credits rolls. Now why is this song bad??? Would the orignal cartoon song have been any better?? I mean come its classic and all but would it have really matched up with the live action translation?
June 7th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
way to rape my childhoods ear. atleast my childhood listenings had rhyme schemes. more than meets the eye, and robots in disguise are the only verses that even remotely rhyme. i started writing this actually joking and thinking the song was ok but now im angry. it was a 2 minute long intro…no bridge, no outro, this is true lunacy. a couple riffs and random non rhyming lyrics, f@cking rap that doesnt rhyme. its actually not bad. it would be great for a new transformers cartoon series but a feature length movie? atleast its more technoey than it is emo. im fine with it i give it a 5 for indifference out of 10.
June 8th, 2007 at 7:32 am
hahahhahahahha its like the Mortal Kombat theme song but instead of the Immortals (later Lords of Acid) doing it some shitty raprock band did it. It is hilarious just like this movie already looks like.
June 8th, 2007 at 7:56 am
i would just like to comment on what lukeg37 asks. i don’t think the original
theme tune would suit the film, it has it’s place in the original cartoon & would probably come across as cheesy in a live action film. as for this new theme i think it sounds horrible & really badly made. why does the film need a theme tune? wouldn’t orchestral pieces suit it better to capture the mood & intent, or
am i asking too much? just my 2 cents.
June 8th, 2007 at 7:59 am
ok am I missing something… how the hell does this movie look bad? It looks as good as hollywood gonna get with an 80’s cartoon. Everyone of you punk whining shit heads are going to see this movie so shut the fuck up and hold the raping my chil hood comments until after you see the movie.
June 8th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
who said this film looks bad? let me at ‘em!!
personally can’t wait for this flick, i’ve been hyped
about it for ages.
June 8th, 2007 at 2:04 pm
lukeg, you are wrong… after I saw the technoultramegafuturisticwannabea3dmodeler designs, I was sure i wasn’t even near a theater showing the movie.
But I’ve followed several pieces here on /Film and other sites that talked bout the movie. It’s unreallistic to ask for a movie that keeps true to the 80’s cartoon classic… but come on!! make every single transformer look like a new fan-made insecticon ??? I think they went too far on that one. I’ve seen the trailers, and so far the movie looks pretty much like The Rock remake with giant robots, no substance at all.
And now… this allegedly theme song… worst theme song ever, not even linkin park would be that stupid to perform such lame tune.
June 8th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
for the last time
it sounds fan made or just a test to play druing filming
i liked beast wars better
June 8th, 2007 at 8:54 pm

June 9th, 2007 at 3:24 am
hey let everyone know that might be a fan made theme u want the real
one check out mute math on my sace they have the true theme
song to the movie.
June 9th, 2007 at 3:25 am
sorry about the miss type its my space
June 9th, 2007 at 11:29 am
this music is horrible. they need to look deeper into their musical reptoires and find some talent…here, ill help. myspace.com/everlovingarmy :)
June 10th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
I liked the beat, but I do agree with Austin, the music was pretty horrible. They left Jazz out when they were doing the Autobots off, so now that they’ve changed the looks, they think they can mess with the theme too. Stupid exectutives.
Transformers 7.4.07
June 12th, 2007 at 10:40 am
The “official” version that is going to be on the soundtrack along with the film (credit sequence, most likely) is by MuteMath. You can listen to it now on their MySpace, www.myspace.com/mutemath.
June 14th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
I think this is fake. This sounds like someone with the most BASIC of Transformers knowledge put it together with a crappy Casio keyboard and some low-end editing equipment.
Besides, I didn’t know there was “a song” for the movie.
Just that ominous orchestral music.
June 15th, 2007 at 6:45 pm
Its a movie, not a music video. The movie will not depend upon 3 minutes of audio for its greatness. Script, special effects and direction also apply, morons. Dont judge a book by its soundtrack.
June 15th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
To Honesty.Don’t you mean “Dont judge a movie by it’s soundtrack”.The movie look’s like it will be good but that song certainly SUCKS!!!!!
June 16th, 2007 at 9:56 am
I can bet you that they will only play that song in the later half of the end credits.
Michael Bay and Steven Spielburgh wouldnt ruin a film like this by putting shitty music andwhere near the begining.
Trust me, it wont be part of any montage-like part in the filom, just the later part of the credits as the credits end.
June 18th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
LOL! you guys have been had! this isnt the new transformers song! you can find
the actual song at http://www.myspace.com/mutemath
enjoi… its quite better than this…
June 26th, 2007 at 4:02 pm
I gotta agree, the theme is just to techno. I was searchin for a theme from transformers and found a nice slow version the I love. It was done by a group called MEATBEE I’d take this over that one.
http://www.mp3.com.au/track.asp?id=99108
June 28th, 2007 at 4:52 am
Apparently that meatbee version was in consideration for the dreamworks movie and they actually recorded a rock version that didnt end up making the cut. check it out on their site www.myspace.com/meatbee i rekkon it kicks ass over the mutemath one
June 28th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
…….mike bay i hate you
June 30th, 2007 at 2:19 am
whats the song title above???
artise? n song title??
July 3rd, 2007 at 11:57 am
It totally sounds like linkin Park. However, compaired to all the remixes of that song, it really isn’t all the bad. Search around on the net or myself, you’ll find some really crappy covers.
I heard the movie was amazingly good. The song won’t make a different. If you want to complain that they used a sports car for bumble bee, blame VW for not wanting their car in a violent movie. That’s old news from back when they were making the film. I’m looking forward to seeing!
July 3rd, 2007 at 12:24 pm
oops - correct on previous post myself = myspace.
July 3rd, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Personally, I liked the version of the theme song done in the original movie by the Lions.
July 5th, 2007 at 6:44 am
I just saw this movie and I don’t remember even hearing this theme song and I was waiting to see what they did about that. It must have played on the credits cause I split when they started to roll.
If this is Lincoln Park, which I’ve never liked anyway, how could they redo this song so cheesy? They must have grew up on Transformers too. Aren’t they supposed to be semi-hardcore? They suck! I’m going to say it again, they suck!
As a true Transformer fan, I have to say that this movie exceeded all of my expectations and then some. If I only had a few words for it, I’d say it kicked ass!
Too bad they don’t have a good theme song to go with it.
July 5th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
This actually ruined the movie…
July 6th, 2007 at 10:22 pm
wt song is it who is it by??????
its ok song pls tell me who sang dis song pls…………..
July 7th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
I am actually pretty curious to know who sang this song? Though not in the movie I would like to have it for my own music collection. Could anyone shed some light on the music clip?
July 7th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
MEATBEE AH!!! I SEE, OH I SEE!!!!
July 17th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
well i find it ok its not bad and its not in the movie at all unless its past the first two songs in the credits but overall the movie is awesome!!! and they left out jazz in the show probably just cuz he dies…poor jazz “hey man you wanna piece of me!?!?” megatron “no ill have two” *rips him in half*
July 18th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
oops corrections show=song
August 4th, 2007 at 8:59 am
I totally agree The touch is the transformers theme. I mean, come on it made that movie (The first one the cartoon)
-H
September 3rd, 2007 at 7:02 pm
OMG what are you all on???? its modern and its hip it will definatly strike a chord with our kids (mine love the song) and ok its not the classic song.. BUT THEN ITS NOTHING LIKE THE CLASSIC SERIES… so i suggest you all turn off the classic thoughts and the classic theme in your head and listen to it and appreciate it for what it is…MODERN and NEW like the MOVIE is and yes i have seen the movie and let me tell you well worth watching (i grew up hating the transformers so for me to like it is somthing unreal) GET over your preconcieved notions on how and what it should sound like based on the original. if anything NO ONE should expect this movie to be anything like the cartoon just like all other movies based on childhood programmes its not going to be anything like the original.
October 27th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
Totally off the subject… I’m looking for the song that is playing when BumbleBee changes from the rad classic Camaro to the hot street rod he is for the rest of the film. It happens in a tunnel and it’s just the beginning of the song but I like it and I want it but I cannot find it anywhere. Help!!
October 31st, 2007 at 1:46 pm
i think they should just stick with the old theme song from the 80’s
November 7th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
It’s definitely not Linkin Park. That much is for sure.
The ‘rap’ in this version is nothing like LP. The ‘vocals’ could pass for LP, but it doesn’t quite sound the same.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
Liz - The song is called “Battle Without Honor or Humanity” from Tomoyaso Hotei. The album is called Electric Samurai
November 15th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
And as a matter of fact, the song is from Mute Math. If you dont believe me, just look for The Transformers album (not the score) in iTunes. Song # 12, “Transformers Theme” is the song you have been talking about for a while.
November 20th, 2007 at 10:49 am
Liz, the song you require is the theme
from Kill Bill.
January 2nd, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Guess I should’ve said a name. Thanx Brian!
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:17 am
I think it’s realy good. It’s more today than the Touch. I think more people in middle and high school would want to see the move.
February 13th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I dont care wat anyone says, obviously someone with taste in music had to produce it so its not tha best song anyone’s herd but its worth giving some credit for in my opinion. overall i think its good and i cant figure out who made it so if anyone knows please tell me. oh and who is ratchet? tha song named an autobot ratchet shouldnt it be Jazz?
February 24th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
To Trayvon Ringgold
Rachet is the autobot doctor in the original series he was an ambulance but for the movie he was a yellow rescue vehicle. besides that as an avid transformers fan i thought that the story line for the movie sucked. the fact that they killed Megatron off is ridiculous. and the only voice and peronality of the transformers i liked is optimus prime.
April 26th, 2008 at 4:13 am
This track song is the coolest in my heart…………..DAMN COOL……..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
April 26th, 2008 at 4:15 am
