[...] Slashfilm.com has the transcripts of Stern’s radio show, but the gist is basically this: He was allegedly asked if he wanted to provide some words for the character of Soundwave, a little radio that transforms into other things. Stern’s first reaction was “hey, cool,” but this his agent stepped in and said something like “that’s way too skimpy a role for someone of your cultural stature!” (I’m guessing.) No word yet on who they hired to voice poor, unloved Soundwave. [...]

Idiots, he wasn't contacted recently it was awhile ago, they are not trying to edit the work now. It was not for voice work but rather a sound clip while the robot was in radio form. They thought it would be neat to hear his show rather then some random music or a baseball game etc.

go back to reporting school.

You morons, soundwave isnt even in the movie. The radio is frenzy, and it wouldnt be for his voice it would be for when it turns on to blend in looking like a regular radio. I just finnished the book, and you'd think a website like this would have some inkling of what your talking about. For a sight that bashes aicn so often ( not that they dont deserve it) but you'd think you'd strive a little harder to get such an obvious story right.

[...] Howard Stern was approached to voice SHOCKWAVE in the TRANSFORMERS movie, but turned it down. That sucks, would’ve been a GREAT moment in the film. I really don’t get what Stern’s agent was thinking, but hey… [...]

I have to agree with gjhfgj. If these quotes are accurate than it is obvious that they only want Stern for a quick radio blurb and not the actual Soundwave character voice. This looks to me like a prime example of bad reporting.

they aren't asking him to be a voice for soundwave. they are asking if his voice can appear on a robot's radio, ie: soundwave will play howard stern's show outloud through his speakers or whatever. this can be added however late they want, it's a trivial 3 second soundbit that would just be thrown in.

I'm sure it's just minor second unit stuff they are still fine-tuning - nothing to
worry about.
