Knocked Up PosterI haven’t met a person who didn’t like Knocked Up. Even the critics love it. The film is currently the best reviewed Hollywood movie of 2007. And by Hollywood movie I mean wide release. And no, I’m not just talking about comedies. It’s the best reviewed wide release PERIOD.

At the time of this posting, Rotten Tomatoes had counted almost 130 reviews, giving the film an insanely popular 92% fresh rating. But it’s not just the critics that love Judd Apatow’s latest. Right now the average moviegoer has rated the film at 8.3 on the Internet Movie Database. Sure, there are only 1,323 votes thus far, and the rating is bound to go down as more and more people average out the vote, but an 8.3 rating is huge. If the film had enough votes, it would be placed in IMDB’s top 250 films of all time.

So if you haven’t already, GO SEE KNOCKED UP! Chances are you’ll love it. And if you don’t, well, you mustn’t have a soul or sense of humor.

I was on the fence but your praise (and everyone else’s) knocked me the hell off.

I saw Knocked Up and though there are very funny lines in the movie. The overly crude humor and long run time left me with a foul taste in my mouth. This is not what comedy is about. Hollywood has turned the comedy genre into a cesspool. I enjoy comedy but excessive vulgarity does not equate comedy to me.
