A couple days back, Warner Bros announced that The Dark Knight would four action scenes filmed with IMAX cameras. We told you then that IMAX offers a resolution comparable to about 10000 x 7000 pixels, or more than 10 times that of normal film. But that’s just numbers and words. Check out this new photo that Warner Bros is passing around to show the visual difference. Not only so we see more on top and bottom because of the non widescreen aspect ratio, but the resolution size is gigantic. And Please note that the image below for the IMAX film frame is not full size. Click on it to see it at full resolution.

is that guy in the ugly clown mask the joker . . . i hope not . . . nolan seems to have already chewed him up and spat him out already

He’s SUPPOSED to have the mask on! Right at the moment, in the pic, his goons are robbing the bank, and he’s told them to kill off each other while there. When there are only two of them left, one of them pulls his gun out and points it at the other “I bet the Joker called to tell you to kill me” says the one holding the gun “No, I called a bus” says the other, in a shockingly playful tone, swaying back and forth as if he didn’t care there was a gun pointed at his chest. Then all of a sudden, a school bus comes crashing through the glass behind the one with the gun and runs him over, killng him.
The Bus driver then gets out and asks what happened to the rest of the crooks, but the man shoots him, then says “School’s out! Time to go!”. Fichtner (the Bank’s manager) is lying on the floor at the man’s feet, the man says “The criminals in this town used to believe in things: honour. Respect. What do you believe in?” asks again more agressively “What do you believe in?!” he takes his mask of to reveal that he’s actually the Joker, he was with the rest of the robbers the whole time, and none of them realised.
He then says “I believe what doesn’t kill you only makes you… stronger”.

The blow up of the IMAX frame isn’t “full resolution” at all. The image is only 844 pixels wide.

um either what nick says has the main points but a few mistakes or there is some strange inconsistencies between the prologues, i have notices his mouth says stronger but the sound was stranger,i.e what dos’nt kill ya only/simply makes ya stranger. when he has the gun in his face he says “i kill the bus driver” not called the bus. i have seen this video a few times and each one seems at least a tiny bit different.well i thought that was interesting

yeah, the other guy says “I’m betting the Joker told you to kill me soon as we loaded the cash” (of coarse he has no idea that the other robber is the joker) and the second robber (cough: joker: cough) says “no, no, no, no, I kill the bus driver” etc, and the bus comes crashing thru the wall and runs over the robber who is aiming his gun at the joker, etc.
i don;t think the prologue is actually shown in the film, as it was reserved only for IMAX theatres, and if you’re going to shoot something for IMAX you need to use special cameras. Instead, the Joker is simply going to have the money already and hold it to ransom and use it to get the mob to get Batman for him.
