Update: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to Follow Captain Jack’s Search For Atlantis?
Despite not breaking Spidey’s record and some questionable accounting, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is another blockbuster success. And while the creative people involved have said that it is the last film in the trilogy, which might spin-off into future films (one of which is hinted in the last act of the film), nothing is guaranteed. Johnny Depp has said he would be game (but really, who could turn down a $40-50 million payday?), and the screenwriters have expressed interest. But now producer Jerry Bruckheimer is expressing some doubt about continuing the franchise.
“We’ve been working on this trilogy for 5 1/2 years, and the latest one was just a monster,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s always about making sure you have a great story with interesting plots, themes and characters. There is a possibility– we’ll see what happens.”
But fear not Pirates fans, when there is money to be made, Disney will be there - that is one thing you can ALWAYS count on. And to be quite honest: Captain Jack is what makes the Pirates movies worth watching. Keira and Orlando’s characters are boring at best. A spin-off film following Jack in search for the Fountain of Youth could be incredible. And this is coming from a guy who hated HATED Pirates 2.

leave us wondering what happens to will and elizabeth after 10 years
and their boy!!! plus, we have to know what happens to the fountain of
youth with jack!!! they can’t leave us hanging with so many questions still
unanswered!!!
even if it may take a while, i still believe that disney will make a pirates 4!!!

i think that if you get rid of the characters that you think borin. will & ellizebeth(who are clearly not boring) then you would be handicapping the pirates of the caribbean movie. even thought you dont like these character, they still do make the movie weather you believe it or not and if it weree not to includ ethem init then pirates of the caribbean would be pirates of the caribbean. thankz who ever may read this for taking time out to read my thoughts,

there has to be a pirates of the caribbean 4!!! and it wouldn’t be pirates of the caribbean without elizabeth and jack cause they’ve been in all the the movies so i’d be WAY different w/o those charecters. maybe like base it off of their son maybe them have to use the blood of a young person that has blood of a pirate or something or idk but will and elizabeth have to be on it and have a happily ever after!!!!!!!!

If there is a Pirates 4, then Will and Elizabeth have to be in it! It wouldn’t be the same without them. It would also clear up some of the things people wonder about Will now that he is the FD captain, and where Elizabeth went for ten years. The Fountain of Youth would be a great followup - Johnny would do a great job. But he has to team up with old friends to get there!

No, Will and Lizzy are done. Captain Jack and Barbosa are just getting started. Jack needs to fight for the Pearl and Barbosa and him are always racing for immortality. What better race than the Fountain of Youth? Maybe even introduce a third pirate? Mr. Ponce De Leon? He is legend for having discovered Florida and supposedly the Fountain of Youth.
An eternally youthful Spaniard and his crew against Jack and Barbosa? Uh, yes please!
Elizabeth and Will’s part in this saga is over. They have been married and we even got to glimpse their son and future happiness. William will keep his promise and continue to shepherd the men and women who die at sea to the afterlife. That’s the responsibility he promised to do when he became Captain of the Dutchman.
It’s all about Jack and Barbosa now. Which is good! Does anyone else agree that they MADE the first movie. That epic battle on the caves on the Isla de Muerta! Even in the third they shine as companions, enemies and conspirators! I can’t wait to see more of these two characters bantering and crossing blades!

there must be a pirates 4! will and elizabeth incorporate so much in the trilogy that will need to be continued. once again, the movie ended with a cliff hanger. there must be another movie with all of the main characters, not just jack. it will be amazing to make many young pirateers happy by making a 4 installment!

Tell me what part could will and liz play? Give me a valid story and I will gladly realize my folly. The problem is, you can’t. Jack Sparrow has always been the focus of the films and will continue to be. Will and Liz would have never fallen in love were it not for Jack. Their part in this story has ended. Putting them back in would be like making a fourth Lord of the Rings. The ring has been destroyed. Will and Liz have been married, and have a son. that’s it. End of story. Jack however, has many more adventures on the horizon.

yes there would be a different age w/ elizabeth and will but she still would be young and so they could still find a way to make it happen that either will’s real age fast-forward or elizabeth’s age goes young but still (possibly) has her child. idk i’m sure the movie makers will think up something to make this saga end happily ever after!!! because i’m counting on it!!!!!!(because i cannot end w/o will and elizabeth seeing eachother everyday not every 10 years!!)

Without Jack Liz would have died when she fell from the parapet into the water HE saved her. They are married and have lived happily ever after. did you see any sadness when Will showed up 10 years later? No, everyone looked happy! Will and Liz are not the heart of the story. Jack is. Just because Teeny-boppers like you go to watch Orlando doesn’t mean he should be in the fourth! Jack IS the franchise. Not Will or Liz. I HATED Pirated 3, but loved 1 & 2. Elizabeth’s part is just dreadful and so was the backstabbing persona of Orlando. But Johhny, there’s the next trilogy star.

if they have a pirates 4 the cannot have will and elizabeth it it. it would ruin the outcome that we received in the third film! i mean elizabeth standing on the beach has legendary significance! like the maiden of the sea. she stands their and waits for her long lost lover to return. it has to end with them there. but bringing cap’n jack back with some other characters like barbossa and gibbs would be great. add some more characters.

i have to say, when both keira and bloom where on the screen i was bored and waiting to see when jack/barbossa would appear, even jacks crew. i dunno, will/liz love relationship is over to me…if there is a 4th, i hope they are not in it since their storyline is over, there is nothing left for them since both their wishes have been fulfilled. walter is right that they are only eyecandy which is why ppl want them in the 4th. if there is a 4th it should be called POTC: The fountain of Youth…ponce de leon? i thought he was an explorer not a pirate? or is it safe to say that both him and jack would collide?

There has to be a POTC 4! I mean they can’t just end it like that! Will
and Elizabeth have to be together in the end, w/o the whole 10yr thing! but it
would be stupid to change the characters! so if they plan on doin that then they
just need to leave it at POTC 3! but if they need a break then give them one!

Tia Dalma explained, though Will had to spend ten years at sea away from Elizabeth, if she was faithful to him and he did his job well he would be returned to her. Davey Jones kept souls on the Dutchman instead of ferrying them to the afterlife, causing him to be captain for eternity. At the end of the credits, Will returns to Elizabeth and their son. We see the green flash, showing that Will has returned from the “dead” and can be with Elizabeth for good.

I was thinking though… Will has a boy, and leaving them for 10 years and missing him being raised etc… may be too difficult… what if he shirked his duties as the captain of the flying dutchman to see them more, and started to turn into a weird sort of monster like davy jones… then elizabeth could be free to be the pirate she truley is in her heart and be with captain jack, which we all know she truley wants… :-) that just sounded more twisted out loud than it does in my head… lol

I, and all the Filipino Fans are waiting again for the Fountain of Youth and althoug the Pirates 3 was very astounding movie, it hangs me in the end on what would happen to Jack Sparrow? Would he can find thew Fountain of youth despite of what he have? Expectedly, Captain Barbossa needs to find Jack for the map, but what would be the twist between? What would happen to the love story of Elizabeth and Will, will it be really a happily ever after or just a hanging part of the story? in an island? I beg for all the people behind this movie to do the next sequel and the character insist that he is interested in the movie’s sequel so do it! Do it for all the people who are really had the devotion to watch it over and over again!!! I’ll wait for it, Pirates!!!

They left a lot on a cliffhanger, though! I mean…they definitely have to follow up on the Fountain of Youth. They could have the fourth start a few months after the third ended (not the ten year thing). Jack still has a lot in him, and he really does carry the movies. But it wouldn’t be near the same without Will and Elizabeth there! Will and his crew could fit in somehow, maybe help them along. Will’s part must be highlighted, though. They can’t push him into the shadows if they bring Elizabeth back. Elizabeth could team up with the others to find the Fountain…then she could be immortal and stay with Will! In my opinion, the green flash at the end did not mean that Will is free from captaincy.

POTC: 4 will go down as follows:
will and elizabeth will meet up, and elizabeth will break down crying. the two, along with their son, will find jack sparrow or barbossa, who are looking for the fountain of youth. There, elizabeth will somehow drink from the fountain and be immortal with her hubby. Jack will also get a sip, and barbossa will realize that immortality isnt everything. There will probably be an appearence of Ponce De Leon, but i’m not sure. New characters are always incorporated. No, it wouldn’t be a good thing is will and elizabeth disappeared, nor is the story centered on Jack. It has several plotlines.

I’ve got it! I was just reading an article about how Kiera Knightly was not
planning to do POC4 even if it was made, and I have come to the conclusion that if they do POC4, the will probably fast forward to when Elizabeth has died and just do about Will and his son. Don’t you see? It’s perfect!
I agree with many on this site especially WalterPonce - your right. The story of Will and Elizabeth is over and it’s better for everyone to just accept that. It’s not likely that we will be seeing anymore of them, even if POC4 was made. Jack is the one they are going to concentrate on - and rightly so. He is the heart of POC!
Can’t wait to see POC4 if they make it.

Okay, I agree with everyone that Jack is the heart of Pirates. What would the series be without him? Nothing. He’s Captain Jack Sparrow - savvy?
But the series would still not be complete without Will and Elizabeth. When you think ‘Pirates of the Caribbean”, Jack Sparrow is probably the first name you think of. But Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and even Hector Barbossa can’t be far behind. Pirates needs those characters to make it Pirates. The series wouldn’t be the same, and I, for one, would enjoy myself less, as I am a die-hard Will, NOT Orlando Bloom, fan.
It would bother me less if Elizabeth didn’t come back. Like, she could die twenty years after the conclusion of Pirates 3, for some Pirates-related reason (it seems the only fair way for her to go). Then Will and his son could continue on together. Granted, it would be freaky since they would be the same age…but it would be interesting to see the three Turner generations interacting.
I still think the Fountain of Youth is a great idea for an immediate sequel. It could include all of them on the quest, somehow. Hey, maybe Elizabeth could die at the end of it, and then Pirates 5 could be Will and his son…granted, never mind, the son wouldn’t have yet been born. My mind works in circles like that.
I just think the series needs Jack and Will. Their fates are meant to be intwined - and NEVER to be joined! Ugh - gross. But Elizabeth is somewhat of a dead weight, and too risky since her interests in men change so much.

There has to be a 4th PotC! I wouldn’t mind a spin off but it should be after the
PotC 4. In other words, they should make a fourth to sum up will and elizabeth
[and their son, maybe] so that we get a true happily ever after for them. then after that they should make a spin off for jack and barbossa w/ the fountain of youth. if they made a 4th w/out will and elizabeth, it just wouldn’t be the same and so many people would stop watching and it’d lose tons of money. the movies aren’t just about jack even if he is the major character but will and elizabeth are just as important. i think they should do at least one more w/ will and elizabeth it’d be so much better and i’m pretty sure they could come up w/ something. at least answer our questions disney!! like what happened w/in those ten years?, what is the kids name?, will william stay w/ the FD or find a new captain and go w/ elizabeth?, what and where is the fountain of youth?, and so many other questions people want to know.

Okay, I just saw the movie for the second time this afternoon. There has to be a fourth! Even though Disney may think they’ve tied up the story of Will and Liz, they left it at a point that is not exactly happily-ever-after. I sort of changed my mind about the fountain of youth thing, at least right after the ending of thie third, because of the epilogue. If they made a Fountain of Youth one, and Elizabeth was forever young and could go with Will, then the epilogue would change, and it would be messed up. However, if they made a Fountain of Youth one, and Elizabeth was forever young BUT still couldn’t go with Will, then it would solve the epilogue problem, but not the ten year thing. In other words, Elizabeth would live forever too, but she and Will would only spend one day together every ten years for all eternity. So I hope they solve the whole thing and get Will and Elizabeth together.
Not to even mention Jack, the true hero of these films. His story could be involved with the Fountain as well, and he’d have to make a choice…Barbossa would have to be in it too, and Gibbs and Ragetti and Pintel, and everyone else. They all have their part in making this franchise a good investment of time.
Even though fans of Jack may think a movie without Will and Elizabeth would be fine, it probably wouldn’t be as good as you think. Two and a half hours without Will and Elizabeth AT ALL? Tell me you wouldn’t be wondering the whole time what eventually happened to them.

I think they should definitely make a fourth movie. The actors all deserve a
break so hopefully they don’t rush into it but still, that just leaves more time to
come up with a really good ending plot. Jack Sparrow is the main character but
Jack and Elizabeth keep the story good and they just can’t end it on them only
seeing eachother once every 10 years. I bet Calypso will be incorporated back
into it because she kind of just disappeared after the whirlpool scene, and she
has to help will or someone (like jack) has to find the fountain of youth, and
then give the water of life to Elizabeth, I myself didn’t stay to the end of the
credits, but when my friend said it was pathetic to her that Elizabeth looked
exactly the same, it made you think that maybe they will make a movie like a
flashback and maybe Will won’t be freed but Jack will do a journey with Barbossa
and get the water for Elizabeth in the end. It would make sense. But does any
one know why Elizabeth’s dad said he didn’t know that when you stabbed the
heart he didn’t know you died? I didn’t understand it, cause he didn’t…???

Barbosa and Jack will team up again to fight of another pirate ( who is very well known) in a race to the fountain of youth. Why would anyone want a Pirates 4 without Will and Elizabeth? Disney threw open the door to continuing their story by not leaving them together at the end. They could have settled down somewhere and lived happily ever after and Jack could have gone on with Barbossa and the crew to have other adventures, but that didn’t happen. So now we need to have resolution to that storyline. I love Jack, but I want Elizabeth and Will’s story mixed in.

Sorry to bust everyone’s hopes but I think this is it for Pirates. I ABSOLUTELY love the third pirates. I even watched it twice in two days. Believe me I want there to be a 4th Pirates, but at the end of Pirates when Jack looked at the map where the Fountain of Youth was…he gave it away that it was the end. The fountain of youth is located in Florida (you can see where it says CUBA) and the X is right where orlando is…….get it? The fountain of youth is located in DISNEY WORLD!!! Believe me, watch it again cause my dad told me about it the first time we watched it, but i had to see it for myself and that is the main reason i watched it the second time. It is pretty clever though if you think about it. The Fountain of Youth is where Disney World is. Cool haw. See ya.

i’m sorry to bust your guys’ hopes but i don’t think there is going to be a 4th pirates. Jack is going after the fountain of youth which is located….dun da daaaaaahh in Florida. Yes it is in Orlando because that is where the X was located at in the end of the movie. When he opened the map and th camera zoomed in on the X, you can clearly see that the location was in Florida and Cuba was even shown too. Sorry, i love POTC as much as anyone, but i think it is over. AHhhh i didn’t want to say it, but I had to. If you don’t believe me jsut watch it again…that is what I did.

Well I already know the story of the next movie. A friend told me, because it’s the only theme playing a role in Boulder today.
It stood in all the newspapers that they WILL film the fourth movie. They want to do two trilogies just as with Star wars.
The story will be the following:
Jack still wants to be captain of the flying dutchmen, but unfotunateley Will has to be. So Jack sails to the Fountain of youth, takes the water and brings it to Will. He stabbes Will’s heart, gives him the water from the fountain of youth and he’ll be captain of the flying dutchmen.
Sounds a bit stupid, and I don’t know how they wanna make this story more interesting but I can say, that I’m really excited. It will be a great movie, although I didn’t like the third one that much after all. There were too many questions left unanswered.
And another thing, the fourth movie should play right after Will got captain of the flying dutchmen, and over all this time Elizabeth is pregnant, which is so stupid. I think they should have left out this stupid scene 10 years later. It makes the whole story somehow rediculous, but still, I’ll watch it.
But I also heard, that they are discussing about, if they should let Will Turner die, because he’s not that important. But if they do so, Pirates of the Caribbean wouldn’t be the same anymore.
Oh, and I’m really sorry for my mistakes, I’m not English and so my English isn’t that good after all, but I hope you’ll understand what I mean!

yes, there has to be a 4th movie. and about will and lizz, you cannot just cancel them out comepletely. people will be wondering about them throughout future potc movies. Will and lizz are crucial elements needed to show the true magic of pirates because its sort of a circle of different personalities that alter between jack, will and lizz and other characters. they feed off of each others own personality that creates the special personality of main and side characters. POTC4 will definitely happen. there is no stopping it. but i know that turner will get replaced by someone unexpected to lead the FD. will is just too crucial to be left out. and liz will probably do something rediculous or standard; ex. drinking from fountain of youth, OR triggering a Romeo and Juliet type of feature. It is just crazy to see Disney exclude main elements in the story like that. Jack, yes is the main character, but would not have the colorful personality we have grown to love without will and liz by his side. ill comnt further later.

OK, first of all, from what I’ve read Johnny Depp is definitely open to doing a fourth installement, that is if they do a fourth. Orlando Bloom replied on the Jay Leno show “I’m ready to do a tenth†when asked “Are You ready for another Pirates?†Kiera Knightly
nobody is sure about. Jerry Bruckheimer believes this is the end of the trilogy for now.
Terry Rossio, one of the screenplay writers, said at a book singing for one of his books “We
will try to write another screenplay but I think if I approach Gore Verbinski with an under
water scene, he’ll probably run the other way.†Also from what i’ve read, if they do do
another, it would probably be the summer of 2009 so the cast and crew can take a long deserving break. And you just can’t have one of the main characters be something that important and just cut it off there, it just doesn’t work. And I want a fourth just as bad as anyone else does.

Honestly, I’ve been reading down the page, and the nonsense I’ve seen is nigh unbearable. Whether you Will/Lizzy fans like it or not, their story is over. The filmmakers confirmed that the green flash meant Will’s reign as the Captain of the Flying Dutchman was over. It is symbolic of a soul returning to the world of the living, just like what happened with Jack when he came back from the Locker.
Elizabeth doesn’t need immortality. Will came back, is mortal once more, and that’s that. I’m sure that Disney could come up with some sort of romance for you kids who just have to have it. Maybe even *gasp* Jack could find a greater love than the sea.
…not that such a thing wouldn’t be incredibly lame for the free-spirit of Captain Jack Sparrow.
In regards to just side-characters in general, you lot seem to be forgetting that they could always work in Jack’s old crew from that book series based around his exploits as a boy. That way, there’s still a certain degree of familiarity to the characters.
I agree with the Jack/Barbossa thing, but I don’t think that Barbossa should be too antagonistic. He seemed like some generic bumbling pirate archetype back in Curse of the Black Pearl, and I don’t want him to revert back to that. I personally favor the idea of Jack and Barbossa forming the Pearl Armada, as Jack suggested (albeit, not honestly) in the first.
I was going to say something else, but I don’t remember what that was. Oh well.

Here’s some info some of you fellow POTC fans will hate, and others will like. I googled ‘pirates of the caribbean 4′ and found this on the 1st page of results:
** The Oscar-nominated actress Keira Knightley finished filming her last scene this week as pirate wench Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, according to the Daily Mail.
The United Kingdom based newspaper says that Knightley has told the movie’s producers that she doesn’t want to participate in any further sequels.
Keira’s co-star in the series, Johnny Depp, has already said that he would consider playing the ramshackle pirate Captain Jack Sparrow - famously modeled on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards - as long as the scripts remained good.
“I’ve been playing this girl since I was 17,” Keira told the newspaper.
“I’m 21 now and I’m onto very different things, but it’s fun to try to invest Elizabeth with some rebellious spirit.” **
So seems like Keira won’t be back, and honestly, why would she? Granted, the trilogy has been hugely successful and propelled Knightly into stardom, but now, she’s an established actress who probably has a lot more acting avenues open to her now as compared to after “Bend it like Beckham”. In saying that though, if enough money was offered to her to be part of a 4th POTC, she may well change her tune.
Don’t get me wrong, as I enjoyed the story involving Will and Elizabeth. These characters added another dimension to the POTC story, and gave us something other to think about besides Jack Sparrow. But how would they contribute further to the story in a 4th film? IF Will still commanded the FD, then he would be tied up doing his duty. And if he is free of that duty which some have stated, then why would he leave Elizabeth, his son and father behind? Same could be said for Elizabeth. They have each other, Will and Elizabeth, and to lose out on what they’ve wanted all along would be puzzling.
It’s a pity such a vital scene was cut from POTC 3, which basically gave closure to the ‘Will and Elizabeth’ saga and tied up loose ends, as then there wouldn’t be so much speculation of a Will/Elizabeth return…
Either way, if POTC4: The Fountain of Youth does indeed get made, it should be one heck of a ride. My guess at a premise would be that Barbossa and Jack would meet up again very early on, as obviously Barbossa’s crew at the end of POTC 3 were a little shaky about deserting Capt’n Sparrow again. Plus Barbossa needs that part of the map back that Jack took. After they meet up, would they then decide to work together, all the while plotting against each other, as has been the norm in the 1st trilogy? Or would they learn to work together against a common enemy, or maybe for a common cause (the FoY)?
Either way, POTC 4, when it does come out (and it will, as they’ve made too much money off the 1st trilogy to just shelve this idea. Best example is LOTR. That trilogy made mega-bucks, and now ‘The Hobbit’ movie is going ahead so it goes to show, as long as there’s money to be made, chances are the film studio will green-light POTC4), chances are it will be just as successful as any of the first 3 films.
Here’s hoping the big-wig decision-makers make the right decision!

SEVEN THINGS are a MUST!
#1: There MUST be a fourth one so I can live on.
#2: The major characters (Will T., Capt. Jack, Eliz. T., and Barbosa) MUST
stay the same or else the next movie will not make close to
any money.
#3: They MUST take time making the fourth (no matter how desperate I
am for the next movie) because they can’t give us 3 glorious movies
and rush through and make a crappy one.
#4: They MUST be extra carefull because once a child is entered into the
movie it can become a bit cheesy. So this could be great for them
(ex: The Mummy 2 with a kid) or it could destroy them
(ex: Zorro 2 with a kid).
#5: They MUST keep Elizabeth Turner a strong female pirate fighter.
Just because she had a kid she better not become a damsel.

Just thought I’d leave a little more ‘food for thought’ for all you POTC fans. Again, a quick search through google provided me with a link to the following article:

Disney bosses have hit out at reports they’re planning to kill off Orlando Bloom in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean installment, insisting the story is completely unfounded. According to British newspaper reports, Bloom’s character Will Turner is deemed “not necessary” to the sea-faring saga, although his castmates Keira Knightley and Johnny Depp are unaffected by the cutbacks.
However, a representative for the film tells moviehole.net they haven’t even agreed on a fourth movie, let alone the cast. He says, “We are working closely with Disney and want you to know that while we cannot comment on specific plot points, such rumors are completely unfounded.”**
This opens up a lot of doors, as it sounds like the Disney big-wigs have more plans in store for Will Turner (This is just guessing by their ‘defensive’ response in the above article). Or maybe they’re only trying to protect their property and not let anything slip, as if it got out Orlando wouldn’t be back in a 4th there’d be a lot of disappointed female POTC fans, maybe disappointed to the point of not going to see the 4th at the movies.
Hmm, if Will does return, how would he factor in? The question remains: If they sign Orlando Bloom on to do a 4th, but not Keira Knightly, how would they interpret that into the script? And could a 4th movie work with Will and Jack but no Elizabeth? It could IMHO…..IF it takes place during the ten years will is bound to his duty aboard the Dutchman.. But then again, if Will is somehow involved in the next movie, and it is during that 10 year period, would his interactions in the next movie affect his duty aboard the Dutchman?
And after reading all of the posts above, it’s unbelievable how many doubters there are out there. POTC 4 will happen. As Lord Cutler Beckett says, “It’s only good business”.

As everyone has been saying that Will can stay on land as long as he likes than who is going to watch over the dead cause that was the whole captian of the Flying Dutchmen’s job.
If they do a fourth movie (witch is very likelly) i really think they should kill one of the main characters just to make it more intresting cause that is what the film makers want you to think about when you leave the theater. the want you to be all shaken up and keep asking yourself “why did they have to kill that one person.” Thats kind of how they did the LOTR trilogy, you knew where the movie was going and then BOOM you get something totally unexpected, its shocking. Barbossa would be a good person to kill and then they can just keep killing him for the 2,3,4,5 times over and over again even though the next story is going to be based on Jack and Barbossa’s adventure, (as I read on one website)

I am telling you right now, without a pirates of the carribean 4, i would totally loose the intrest in all the movies. There has to be a 4th one, there just has 2! Plus there is a million questions that still have to be answerd and if there isn’t a fourth one people are going to be very mad and i am defentily one of those people! So please make a fourth one because right now i know that i can’t wait to see what happens next with hottie Jack and Orlando and sweetheart Elezabeth.

Okay, I was pissed off when I saw the love birds fly across the boat, because that AUTOMATICALLY meant that someone was going to die. Though i spent the better part of the night in a tantrum and rant… i have come to understand that yes their story is Done. I know as americans we’re use to the happy go lucky couple to be off in a nice cottach with 2.5 kids and a dog named skip, but I guess not here.
(loophole: technically, couldn’t Elizabeth sell her soul to Orlando for like a dollar, and then spend eternity with him on the ship?)
OMG THERE’s GONNA BE A PIRATES 4 WITH LIZZY AND WILL!? BECAUSE anyone notice that Will’s son looks STRANGELY SIMILAR to the kid at the beginning who gets HUNG for chilling with Pirates? HOWEVER that would mean that the short India trading company guy shouldn’t be there cuz he’s dead?? Whats HAPPENING THAT SCENE MUST HAVE SOME SORT OF SIGNIFIGANCE!? and didn’t that kid wear some sort of gold coin around his neck??

A quick note to jay: That article with Keira saying she didn’t want to do another is really old, like last year. I’ve heard more recent reports that she most likely will sign on for another POTC. And yes, there most likely will be a fourth movie, because such a big franchise has come out of it, and people love it. And I truly hope that Will does not die in the fourth, or Jack. I don’t really care if Elizabeth does, but I do hope they do the fourth carefully if she is going to have a kid with her, baby or nine-year-old, because a lot of good sequels have been ruined by babies. If Elizabeth is staying in, it would be completely demeaning to have her be a damsel in distress, or worse, -shudder-, her and Baby Turner leverage for an enemy over Will. My friend and I were talking about it, and Disney could easily have a plot for a fourth without even messing up the epilogue. Think about it:
Some short time, a few months or so after the third ended, Jack could go for the Fountain of Youth. Somehow, he and Gibbs meet up with Barbossa and the Black Pearl, because it is crucial to the good plot to have that crew in the movie. They are going for the Fountain, when Elizabeth has this idea to go with them, so she can be immortal and live forever, with Will. Will comes into the story, too, Disney could easily think of a reason. Maybe he decides just to help them, to either try to to discourage Elizabeth from giving up her mortality or to help them along their way. Ponce de Leon would be a good addition for a character to this movie.
Then Jack decides to do the right thing for once: he offers to stab Will’s heart, therefore making himself the Dutchman captain, and Will can drink from the Fountain of Youth so he will still live. Then Elizabeth can drink from the Fountain, too, and they can be immortal together.
Ten years later, Elizabeth and her son stand on a cliff. Elizabeth looks no older because of the Fountain. The green flash is seen reflected on Elizabeth’s face. A ship is shown far below. Will is seen on a rigging. See how easy they made it? Jack has come
