Dreamworks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg has announced that there will be a Shrek 4 (2010) and Shrek 5, but THAT IS IT!
“It’s a finite story, has been from the beginning and I think that’s part of its integrity, part of its strength, that we’re not thinking this up as we go,” he told The Age. “Ultimately we will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in that swamp. We will reveal his story.”
So there you have it. We have a prequel story to look forward to, and who knows what else. Oh yeah, and there is that Christmas special, and the theme park ride and… okay, realistically, the Shrek franchise will never truly end - will it?

Shrek 1 and 2 made me laugh and I enjoyed watching them both ,but shrek 3 was as lacking what the first 2 movies had and that was humor. I feel that Shrek 3 was more story than anything..
I hope shrek 4 and 5 can pull off what the first two movies did and still end with a great story ending.

Lets say that the 1st 2 were pretty good… The 3rd was ok as well… Doesnt compare to the 1st 2… But its like Batman… Can we stop the insanity?! Why not just leave the Shrek story be, leave us all wondering what happens instead of dragging it out… It leaves the story more “popular” if its just left alone!!! The next 2 had better be super because of the reviews I’ve read the 3rd one isn’t doing so great!

shrek is really cool, ive liked him ever since it started. fiona and donkey r my favourite characters, i like fiona because shes good at karate,as am i, and i like donkey because almost every single word that come out of his animated donkey mouth is funny! well..I went to see Shrek the third tonight…I agree - was nothing compared with first one - too modern.. too much of a story.. and it was quite short. Although twas better than 2nd one. If their gonna make 2 more movies, and their gonna make a story about Lord Farquad comin’ back as a ghost (?) that is just stupid and unreal. Their gettin’ too into this.. they should be a little more simple..
I, personally would not like to see em goin’ past 5, cos that means more fantasy and exageration.. and it’ll get really boring like that…

That thing about lord farquad coming back as a ghost was just a short thing they made called shrek 3d. Plus i don’t find any of the shrek films funny i just have an abnormally small sense of humour but they are not going to stop because people want them to stop. I have to say that Shrek is wonderful…all of them. I think they should keep making Shrek movies as long as they can. My children love the movies more than I do. No sooner than the movie is over, we have to start it all over again. Every Shrek movie has it’s own unique quality that keeps you wanting more. Hurry with the Shrek 4 and 5 and then keep going with Shrek 6 and 7 and 8 and 9..you get the point. Who cares if the lame adults don’t like it. All the kids and adults who are kids at heart LOVE IT!! Thanks to all of the Shrek crew for giving my family lots of laughs and hours of entertainment. I would actually like to see the movie go and watch Shrek’s children grow up. See how he handles a teenager. LOL.

Well, I didn’t have a mental pic of how shrek 3 should have been so I wasn’t dissapointed i liked it. I mean the merlin dude was funny, the villans were funny and shrek freakin out bout bein a dad was funny. It was as adventurous as the other 2, but it WAS a different movie and people should have know hey this isn’t the 1rst or 2nd so lets not compare it to them. Of course its different, what would be the point of making it were it the same? Anyways, I love it
