Shrek the Third

Dreamworks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg has announced that there will be a Shrek 4 (2010) and Shrek 5, but THAT IS IT!

“It’s a finite story, has been from the beginning and I think that’s part of its integrity, part of its strength, that we’re not thinking this up as we go,” he told The Age. “Ultimately we will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in that swamp. We will reveal his story.”

So there you have it. We have a prequel story to look forward to, and who knows what else. Oh yeah, and there is that Christmas special, and the theme park ride and… okay, realistically, the Shrek franchise will never truly end - will it?

    Shrek 3 did suck a bit, but i'm only hoping for the fourth movie to be good and make up for that and when /if it does, i don't think anyone would mind watching the fifth.

  • I agree - was nothing compared with first one - too modern.. too much of a story.. and it was quite short. Although twas better than 2nd one. If their gonna make 2 more movies, and their gonna make a story about Lord Farquad comin' back as a ghost (?) that is just stupid and unreal. Their gettin' too into this.. they should be a little more simple..

    I Love Shrek! I'm A 54 year old youth! There were many morals to the story! I fund adult humor with out it being taken too far! Besides, I had real Shrek in my life! Lol!

    I honestly cant believe there making a fourth!!! (I know that for me, Shrek 3rd was the worst movie i had ever seen. Awful story and lame introduced characters).

    We have seen Fiona's side of the family, what about Shrek's, all we know is that his father almost ate him when he was a child. He could be first in line to the ogre kingdom's realm, and his mother has been looking for him all this time. Maybe he wandered off into the woods and got lost or maybe a witch snatched or led him away far from his home cast a spell on him at the request of his elder brother who wanted the throne for himself.

    I think that they shpould have stopped at shrek 2 because they are just dragging it on and i was bored in the cinema
    Hopefully shrek 3 was just a rubbish plot line leading to a much better one in the future
