Juji2,

Closeminded, mabye. But pathetic?

Scott took the true life story of a drug addicted lesbian model turned bounty hunter, and what did he turn it into? A string of unforgettable slow-motion shots, flying bullet shells, and explosions inexplicably co-starring two 90210 cast members playing themselves. He took gold and produced bronze. Put that story in two-dozen different directors' hands and you would have had a more memorable film.

I think they should go after someone who has a proficiency in storytelling (see Lord of the Rings, the Bourne films, Spider Man, and Harry Potter 3-5 for moving someone from more obscure story-based movies into franchise/blockbuster territory). After all, even the most recent Bond films are mostly dialogue and intrigue.

ihartsf obviously is closeminded and pathetic.
tony scott i think would be an amazing choice for the next bond film, not only is he an alumni to action films, he is british. what makes a better mix? domino was an intense story with an intense chracter backround, hence the use of hand crank during filming.

There's no way I'd want QT to direct an official Bond movie. I mean, James and the Girl engaging in endless pop-culture referencing rants? James killing people with endless amounts of gore spilling everywhere? No, no. QT should do a "hommage-60's style" spy flick, like he did for blaxploitation movies, martial arts movies, westerns, etc... Tony Scott might do a good job, but I'm not too sure. I'd like to see Marc Forster. He's been doing very different films (Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stay, Stranger Than Fiction) and always succeeding at excellence or near-excellence. Still I'd be surprised if it's either of these three that get the job.

I'm sorry. Did you see Domino? The problem hardly stopped at the script. I could not wait for that movie to end so I could get out of the theater. Tony Scott shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a Bond project.

With a good written script Tony Scott could be a seriously good contender for the next Bond.
