The Incredibles 2This weekend we noticed that out of no where we started getting a lot of hits from the search engines looking for information on The Incredibles 2. We did a quick google search to see what the heck was going on and discovered that we’re the number one result on Google for the search term “The Incredibles 2“, hence all the people looking to us for information. As it turns out, a few unknown blogs are reporting that Disney/Pixar have given the greenlight for a Incredibles sequel for a 2009 release. The promotional image (which we obtained via UpcomingPixar), seen right, has also been floating around. One problem: This story is not true. There is actually no truth to this story at all.

When we saw Brad Bird at WonderCon earlier this year, he told us the follow:

“I love the characters and I would love to return to that world,” Bird said. “But I think at Pixar, the bottom line is the story that you’re telling. And Pixar does not look at sequels as a financial plan. We feel we have a relation ship with the audience and that they believe in each movie we put out. We believe completely in every movie we put out. If I can come up with a story that is as good or better than that first film, then I’d love to return to that world, but it would have to be story first.”

And so far there is no viable story, and Brad Bird is prepping to direct his first live action feature for Pixar. So don’t expect The Incredibles 2 anytime soon (or in 2009 for that matter).

I wish more studios were like Pixar & more execs were like Brad Bird putting story before the almighty dollar.

Not to mention the fact that “creaters” isn’t even spelled right…

I Think You better Make A Sequel To The Incredibles on release 2009 Right Now Brad!!!!!

Well, story was what it was all about. That is what made The Incredibles so good. A non-traditional superhero family and a villain with a true motive: No “Superman” characters who are good just because. Syndrome had a purpose for what he was planning and it was driven out of his past, not some corny “I’m bad because evil is better” concept. A good continuing story with a worthwhile villain and you have the makings of another believable movie…

I Think “The Incredibles 2″ may be released in April 17, 2009 which is following by “Toy Story 3″ is gonna be released in 2010, How About That?

I think another Incredibles would be great. I love the movie and anytime its on tv I will watch it, and hey I’m no kid. This movie has always had me wanting more and the way it ended, it could be continued so please really think about it, you have a lot of fans who would love to see another one!!!!

“Delarion,” above, is the person responsible for both of the blog posts. He seems to be some retarded child making up movie sequels and posting about them everywhere. Google for “brendvs3″ or “delarion” to see for yourself.

Wow randomizer, your right, this moron really goes out of his way to hype up everyone about something that will never happen.

And I really hope to see a second one, because I have watched this movie so many times, and I just want more every time. I see this movie 4 times a week, for the past 5 months (I work at the McDonald’s PlayPlace, so don’t think I”m crazy) and I just have to watch it instead of “The Little Mermaid” and “Monster’s Inc.” (sorry I just know every lyric to that movie.) Everyone who is at the PLayplace and watches the end always talks about the ending and how it should show more of this character or there should be a sequel. If only Brad Bird could see everyone’s reaction to the ending of this movie. It’s not like the reaction from the last episode of “The Sopranos” or from the movie “28 Weeks Later” but it’s a good one. (Kinda like 28 Days Later, in my opinion)

If they do a second one, I hope they make really good theme songs to go with it like the first one. I can’t even imagine how many times I heard that ending song, after just hitting the “Previous Chapter” button on the dvd player.

I agree with “Lynn”, I mean I understand that Brad respects the policies behind Pixar, but he should really think about making a sequel to “The Incredibles.” And like “Lynn” said, there are alot of fans that would love to see a sequel. So I hope there will be a sequel, if not, then that will be very disappointing. The first one was so freaking hot. I done watched the first one like over 30 times and I still watch it every day. I’m just obssessed, and would loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to see a Part 2, :)

I mean these guys need to get real, make a sequel and stop acting like the incredibles was such an original and unique idea….does no one remember fantastic four? I LOVE both, I am slightly obsessed with the incredibles, and so is my son. They need to think about how many people are fans, and how many people they would please…not to mention the profits, and awards they would get!

Well I think the Incredibles is superb! I’m 36 and don’t care what anyone thinks, it’s the story that appeals. Most of us who work can relate to the fact that most jobs are boring and we’d do anything to actually do what we’d like to do. So how much more for a superhero!
There must be loads of ideas for a sequel, so please got on with it pixar, Mr Bird etc, you are guarenteed that one person will be at the cinema!
You did a toy storey sequel, it was excellent, we deserve an incredibles follow up, make our day

Not to mention the obvious typo of, “Guess Who Back”. Leaving out is or the s on who’s. No real ad would have such a obvious error.

The incredibles was hey an incredible movie lol! No but seriously you should definitely consider coming out with a 2 and three, it’s one of the best made yet! And I also agree that the way it ended could easily be brought into a number 2. Think about it, what about Jack Jack! Ok well I hope to see an Incredibles 2 one day lol

  16. Gravatar

i watched The Incredibles in the cinemas when it came out and i watched it again after so long two days ago, and now, i can’t go a day without watching it…seriously…the guys who said there’d be a sequel had me hoping…so now, i’m hoping they DO make a second movie…i want to know what happens to vi…and tony…and dash…and his career in track and field…and i want to know what REALLY is jack jack’s powers…they didn’t explain it in the first movie…

Hi Everyone ~ Have you been to Disney Hollywood Studios lately? (The former MGM Studios in Florida) I was just there in April 2008 and they are already promoting it with a new poster, down the hall from where you meet and greet Mr. & Mrs. Incredible. I actually took a picture of the new poster with my son next to it to show everyone back home “THEY WILL BE BACK!!!!” If I knew how to load the picture on this website, I would. But just take my word for it, they WILL be back!! (Or should I say JACK JACK WILL BE BACK!!) LOL
