Michael Bay

Transformers director Michael Bay is trying to get Dreamworks/Paramount to release Transformers one day early.

“The studio kind of sort of is thinking about which might mean “no”. If you spread the word on the Net - everywhere - they might listen,” wrote Bay. “The 3rd everyone is off from work, I say ‘what the f**k’ play the movie - ‘give’em giant f**king robots early’!!!”

The Armageddon director also claims that the new trailer released yesterday shows you almost nothing in terms of the film’s big money shots.

“When they put the piece together I kept wanting to show our truly awesome shots - but we didn’t. I can without a doubt, say we have just teased you on this trailer. We have so many huge shots that will never be in our ads. I bet this will be one of the rare trailers that does not show you the true money shots of the movie.”

Bay also thanked the fans for all the good words:

“I want to thank everyone for the kind words on the trailer. I’m so used to seeing robots I kind of got bored with the trailer. I forget you have not seen them.”

Transformers hits theaters on July 4th 2007 (at least for right now).

I saw it on the 2nd. all I can say is Bay was right. This was to me, everything I wanted in a TF movie. Action, time to catch your breath, laugh a little, then get slammed with more action over and over. Some battles I think were over too quickly, but the effects…. Seeing them transform fully for the 1st time made my jaw drop. I do CG artwork and I’m always picking at movies like cars or FF7 Advent children, working out how they did the shots. I was so amazed at the detail I had to pick my jaw up from my lap. I didnt pick it apart, I was so engrossed in it.
