I’ve just recently become addicted to HBO’s hit show Entourage. Word has begun to spread that HBO will be filming some scenes for a future episode of the series later this week on the Croisette. So why are the guys at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival?
My best guess is that the fictional movie within the show, Medellin, a Pablo Escobar epic penned by Paul Haggis, has either gotten into the festival or is in the film market (a section of the festival devoted to the sales of indie films). We discovered in the last episode that the boys were going to produce the film independently. It will be interesting to see if the production puts up fake billboards and advertisements for the film, as was done with James Cameron’s Aquaman (see Variety advertisement below).

My guess is Vince and Eric go to Cannes to shop the movie to potential investors.

They have to film it. I’ve been talking about this idea since Queens BLVD. Medellin would be a huge hit. What are they waiting for?

Mark Bowden wrote a novel called “Killing Pablo.” It’s about the life and death of Pablo Escobar… it is the most entertaining book I’ve ever read; and it’s non fiction. Medellin as real movie would be incredible, and has the potential to be better than Blow or Traffic. Somebody should pick it up and make that movie… whether its “Vinny Chase” playing the role or not. Personally, I think Benecio probably would be the guy for the part! Whatever the case, its time to make a movie about the guy.

Word, word. If they did make it and Adrienne Garnier could pull it off it would be sick for ADR G. HBO and the rest of us. Nothing like that has ever been done before….

Haha I’m just going to blues in now that the Cannes episode has aired and tell you they went there to film the thing for Medellin because it supposedly got in.
But you probably know that already.
Then again i just went to http://www.medellinthefilm.com/ and completely fell for it before realising that Vince was playing Pablo, not Adrian who plays Vince. Complicated, I know but its great how it fools gullible people like me.
