I must admit, I’m a fan of The Rock. I think he could be the next big action star, if he got the right roles. And the fact that his new film, Disney’s The Game Plan was shot in my hometown (and at the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium), with a few of my close friends on screen, it should be hard for me to not like this film. I mean, for months I’ve actually been excited to see it. Disney has made a couple good sports films, and a bunch of bad ones. Unfortunately, The Game Plan looks like it could be one of the aforementioned clunkers. The Rock has a huge sense of comic timing, and that if not anything else, is very evident in this trailer. Check out the new trailer after the jump and decide for yourself. Could this be to The Rock what Mr. Nanny was to Hulk Hogan?
The movie follows an NFL quarterback living the bachelor lifestyle who discovers that he has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. The film also stars Kyra Sedgwick. Yes, this is the movie where The Rock sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon injury which forced the studio to postpone production for a few months. Although no official release date has been announced, we expect this one to hit theaters sometime during the 2007 football season.

The Rock definitely needs to pick better movies. He was hilarious in Be Cool, unfortunately the movie sucked.

he hasn’t done any kiddie movies, so this is a nice change of pace. if kids like kiddie movies, that’s all that matters

I would imagine that the Rock wanted to make a movie for his daughter, whom he dotes on. Unfortunately, he’s taking a huge risk with a Disney crapfest and may go the way of Vin Diesel in “The Pacifier.” Why no one has come up with any decent roles for him in any action movies is beyond me.

Quite frankly, I think this is not going to effect his movie career. Though we could only hope! I mean I love The Rock as an actor, he is definately talented, but if his movie career goes down the shitter… you know what that means… WWE is waiting at his door.

I think it looks pretty funny for a kid movie. If you watch the trailer when he is allergic to cinnamon its funny when he does the commercial, so I think it should be a good movie for kids.

I LOVE THE ROCK!!! This movie is going to be awesome just because he is in it lol But seriously, DJ-yeah that’s what I call him- DJ is a great dad and a great football player in real life so this role was made for him. I am so waiting to see this movie!!!

This movie had a good story line. Jerry Seinfield says its terrible. When was the last time he did a movie? Exactly….. The ROCK was played this character really well and the little girl Peyton was perfect for the part. Great Movie :)
