Shrek the Third hits theaters later this month and DreamWorks Animation is already setting up the sequel. The studio is in negotiations with Mike Mitchell to direct the fourth film. Tim Sullivan penned the script, and Josh Klausner recently did a rewrite. No word on what the Shrek 4 will be about, but one would suspect that it would include all the usual players (include the three new additions to the Shrek family). Mitchell’s filmography includes Deuce Bigalow, Surviving Christmas, and Sky High. It’s interesting that a big franchise film like Shrek can’t attract a more competent director. You would think that people would be jumping at the oppurtunity to be attached to the next summer hit film. I mean, it can’t hurt your resume (especially Mitchell’s resume).
