Last week we reported a rumor that Live Free or Die Hard would be rated PG-13. We wondered if this could really be possible. It must have been a quote from Bruce Willis taken out of context. 20th Century Fox couldn’t be that stupid, could they?
Well they could, and are. Willis has confirmed to AICN that the film is infact PG-13. Willis claims “that if you didn’t know it was PG-13, you couldn’t tell, because it got him to the edge of his seat at least 6 times. Now, it might not have as many “fucks” as in the past, but the action and intensity - he swears is there.”
But can we really believe him? Wasn’t this the same guy who claimed this new PG-13 film was better than the original, right before saying the F-word on live television?

This is a travesty! It shouldn’t be a Die Hard movie…

Guess I will be waiting for the unrated DVD version… no wait… I’ll rent it from the local Blockbuster than Hollywood doesn’t see any of the money. My 1080p HDTV and 5.1 surround sound will have to do…

I say that if you still need to see this movie in the theaters, don’t see it on opening weekend. The studios get the majority of the revenues in the first week or two while the theaters get the majority in the later weeks. Wouldn’t be great if the latest installment of Die Hard makes like $200+ million, and the studios only get like $20 million of it. That would be a great middle finger statement to the studio for their stupidity.

What is everybody in middle school here? If you want some one to curse at you give me your phone number.

Yeah. What is all the fuss about a PG-13 Die Hard, anyway? When I first saw the original, it was an edited-for-TV TV14 version, and it knocked my socks off. Since when do we have to hear a lot of F-words for a movie to be good????????Now we can take our teenagers to see it, too. And what about Armageddon? Yipee-kai-ay, my friend!

What about Armageddon? It sucked just like this watered down version of
Die Hard will…

Armageddon was awesome…ur stupid

And what’s so watered down about it? There just can’t be more than two F-words, and not a lot of wet blood, that’s all. Die Hard never was about sex or nudity, anyway. I don’t see why a lot of gore and profanity is essential to making a good movie.

The PG13 rating is going to make these guys more money. There are many, many people who won’t watch R movies. There are many others who won’t take older kids to R movies. Like it or not, this is a smart financial decision. This movie is going to rock regardless of what the pre-pubescents “R” advocates on the post say.

GODDAMMIT, it’s all about the fans!!!! A strong MAJORITY of the fans grew up seeing the Die Hard series with an R-rating. That’s what made the character of John McClane famous! Yeah, it’s violent and bloody and vulgar, but that’s what Die Hard is known for! The core audience just expects that, and they won’t settle for anything less!
Unfortunately, all these know-it-all movie execs care about is more money for their all-ready overflowing pockets. Money-grubbing PIGS!!! They could care less about the fans! In my opinion, the FANS are what made the movies popular! They are the ones who read the original novel! They made it possible for the novel to become the landmark hit movie! They made it successful enough to spawn sequels, which would become equally as successful as the first. And finally, it’s because of the fans that these movie execs are rich! And that goes for any other successful film in history that has ever turned a profit for these guys!
I hate to say this, but I hope this latest Die Hard movie tanks at the box office! Maybe that’ll teach these movie studios to appreciate the core audience more and give them what they want. After all, it’s the least they can do for us for making them successful!

There isn’t a promblem with the PG-13 rating but the MPAA. Gunner Palace was was vulgar and won a PG-13..at least 40+ f-words so was the Hip Hop Project…the fact is that the MPAA picks and chooses what movies to censor. Live Free or Die Hard could easily have the same material as the older R-rated ones but this is the
fault of the MPAA and not the rating…too many movies are rated R for frivilous scenes…minor sexual content, strong language, violence etc…re change the rating system is my point..that’s where it starts.

It’s so sad to see this movie fail because there aren’t f words. I thought it was such a fun enjoyable movie. Hopefully they’ll get an r for the DVd release and make it up to the fans.

I no this sounds strange coming from a guy whos in england and its already come out on dvd and everything but still! PG-13, it was cut to make that! thats the equivalent to a 12A over here rite? WRONG! it was suddenly released in the UK wiv a 15 certificate wen it could of easily made it 2 a 12A! I now own the uncut dvd and it does have lots of swearing init! and more blood! so it was worth the wait! better than die hard 1!!!!
