War is not a necessary evil. If you'd bother to study history you might know this. Read The Chalice and the Blade by Eisler. Peace is possible. Only your ignorance stands in the way.

Also, if you had bothered to know what Ken Jacobs was about before polluting this board, you would know that Ken Jacobs is certainly not an intellectual. In fact, if you ever heard him speak you would be amazed at how much you would learn... But apparently you're not interested in learning. Quit waging war on aesthetic forms because they aren't familiar to you. IT'S AN ALTERNATE FORM!!! GET IT! ENSLAVE IT!!! WE CAN EXPLOIT IT! Are you by any chance running for office this year?

Man, I can definitely see why you would be displeased with this film, but I think you're totally wrong in saying that its a comment on war. I mean, what did you base that supposition on?

In my opinion, he's critiquing more the current consumer society seen within this country.
At no point in time does he even get near paralleling his film to the war.
Its more about the obsessions of people back then, and how those obsessions persist today.

If you're going to read too deeply into things and think its about war and why it is what it is,
then you might as well think Spiderman 3 is a scathing critique about the Bush administration and the injustices committed on Iraq

This movie was without a doubt, the biggest waste of my time I have ever encountered. I stayed the whole time, because I have an a open mind, however, this has left me disgusted and downtrodden. As I looked around the theater, many old women were sleeping, and those that were awake, looked entirely confused and miserable.

I am interested in learning what makes these underground false intellectuals, like Ken, tick, and why they cannot understand that at times, war is a necessary evil. I support dissent, it is appropriate in any democratic society. I refuse to accept however, political commentary which totally disregards any sense of reality, or respect for our country.

Finally, if Ken Jacobs is interested in making a statement appropriately or effectively, incorporating the real world might be helpful.
