Fox Searchlight has signed music video director Marc Webb to direct (500) Days of Summer, an anti-romantic comedy which focuses on a relationship between a woman who doesn’t believe in love and the man who falls hopelessly in love with her. Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber wrote the script. Neustadter and Weber penned an early draft of the MGM Pink Panther sequel. I’m always excited to see music video directors cross over to feature films. Some of the more interesting films of the last ten years were made by such directors (Michael Bay, Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Mark Romanek..etc). And music video directors will offer a great visual experience, if nothing else. Check out some of Webb’s music videos after the jump.
