24 the movie

I have to admit, I love watching 24. Sure, this season may have Jumped the Shark. For once the series is filled with some ridiculously bad writing and horrible acting (that happens when you kill all the talented actors off a series), but I still refuse to  stop watching until Jack saves the day. We’ve all been waiting for the previously announced 24 movie, because let’s face it, Jack Bauer/Kiefer Sutherland is the modern day John McClane/Bruce Willis, and a 24 movie could be better than Live Free or Die Hard (or so we’d hope).

Originally we were told that a screenplay was in the works, and the plan was to shoot the film during the season break (which is coming up). Well it looks like the script is finished but Fox has decided to delay the project until the show is finished (at it’s current rate of quality could be really soon).

“The script has been written but it’s on hold until the show comes off air,” confirms screenwriter Evan Katz.

No reason was given. My best guess is that this would give the team more than a couple months to work on the feature film.

I love this season of 24. As far as I am concerned, it is one of the best ever. I hope it goes on for a very long time.

I’m not sure what was more ridiculous, Jack Bauer running around the streets with the equivelent of Osama Bin Laden or Jack teaming up with an Autistic man to fight crime, which I found worse than any cougar.

    24 has jumped … : - (

I wouldn’t waste time and money on a 24 movie so I don’t care if it’s delayed or never happens at all. The show jumped the shark a long time ago. There are better shows to watch like Heroes.
