Warner Bros has hired music video turned feature film director Sanaa Hamri to helm a sequel to the big screen adaptation of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The original 2005 film starred America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) and Blake Lively, all of wholm are in talks to return.
The likely to be PG-13 sequel will not be based on the follow-up novel, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, but will instead be based on the fourth book in the series: Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood. However, bits from the second and third books (Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood) will be included in this next movie.
Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood was released earlier this year, and is the fourth novel in Ann Brashares’s aclaimed Sisterhood series. The story concludes the adventures of four girls who share a pair of magical pants that fit each one of them perfectly, despite their vastly different shapes and sizes. Hamri has directed music videos for The Notorious B.I.G, Mary J. Blige, Jay Z, Prince, Mariah Carey and Sting. Her first feature film, Something New, was released last year.
Production will begin on June 3rd 2007 in Greece, before moving on to New York and Connecticut.

i have read these books over and over again and i would absolutle love ann brashares if she kept on making the sisterhood of the traveling pants or atleast finised or wrapped up the book series in a 5th and final sisterhood bookit would be soooooooooo awsome these books are to good for anyone not to like id stay up nights just to read the sisterhood books thats how awsome and excellent they are and i hope she asks her kids or something to continue the series if she ever died atleast shed know something she had written would be carried on.one more thing these books are wicked awsommmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutly love this book series. I am on Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of The Sisterhood. I really don’t quite know what I am going to read when I’m finished the series! Im hopeing to god that Ann Brashares continues with them! These touched me on such an emotional level, I literally feel a bond with them! I love the girls, and want to let Ann know that she truely has created a masterpiece here. Im very excited to begin reading the 4th book: Forever in Blue. I think everyone should read these books!!!!! And Thanks again Ann Brashares for this magnificent series!!!Please keep up the good work!!pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaase!!!!!!! =0]

OMG! Literally just finished the fourth book, and I’m still in tears. If you liked the first three books, then you will LOVVVVE the fourth! Best one by farrrr…I really hope she continues.. = (
