It's hard to tell what he looks like, though it appears similar to the old look doesn't it?

you realy dont know if thats the real heath ledger because alot of people have been trying to make him look ugly so i dont know but to me it kinda of does look like him so i dint know but i knoww i cant wait to see the movie. :^)

if you google Joker and Heath Ledger then you will find a rather harsh looking shot of the REAL joker. Scars on his face with white makeup looking somewhat like Grant Morrison's Batman #663 issue when the Joker reinvents himself. The image was originally part of the www.ibelieveinharveydent.com website and now when viewed shows an error. Highlight all text and you will see a freaky group of "ha"'s. Looking closely you can see misplaced letters which then give you the link to the image. Brilliance.

Shouldn't they have called batman begins "Dark Knight" it would have made more sense cause you can say you are a fan of the Batman movies or a fan of the Dark knight movies

What's with the guy that thinks that the Batsuit in Batman Forever is better than the grounded,
realistic suit of Begins? The Forever suit had nipples...NIPPLES for God's sake.

I'm going to have to say that Begins is the best of the batman movies, as it brutally kills the campy
crap that was too prevalent in the previous iterations. Dark Knight looks more promising than any
of the other sequels of old.

The Joker will be raw as hell and a guaranty that Nolan will have a suprise with the joker. He knows about the past batman series and he wont make that mistake.

Has anyone considered that maybe Heath Ledger's casting as the Joker is itself one of Warner Bros. elaborate marketing hoaxes in the spirit the character? I wonder, with all the debate over the mysterious presence of Anthony Michael Hall on the cast list, if the unnamed character he is to play is actually the Joker, and we're all being deliberately mislead. The selection of a controversial actor to announce as playing the part, someone glaringly inappropriate, someone all us fanboys would vehemently disapprove of...only to pull the rug out from under our feet at the last moment. What a punchline!

I really, REALLY hope this photo at least is a hoax. I mean, if I wanted to keep a character's look a secret, what better way than to placate nosey photographers by having somebody wander around my set looking exactly how they expect?

But to be honest, the press and promotions can exagerrate on things but that's what makes us want to watch the film, correct?

the joker is my all time favorite batman villain. the only reason i am going to see this film is because of him!

batman begins was without a doubt the best batman movie and christain bale put on over 100 punds of muscle to be batman and batman isnt supposed to be some huge buff guy he is supposed to be lean and just have a lot of muscle mass and the point of the make up is its supposed to look like anyone could have done it themselves. The make-up that looks like "anyone who went to Kmart could have done it" is supposed to look like that. This is a more realistic portrayal of the Batman world, not Tim Burton's disneyworld colored spectacle of a movie.

A real sociopath might really go to Kmart and slather some halloween make-up on his face, and then go run amok on the streets killing people. That is far more disturbing a thought, than some guy falling into a vat of magic toxic waste that turns their face into a cartoon. Puh-leeze.

This is the reason people like this new envisioning of the Batman movie. Because it seems more possible- therefore, engaging- yet outlandish all at the same time. Batman Begins blew other comic book movies right out their glowing water. And The Dark Knight is going to be awesome in it's own right.

I thought Batman begins was one of the best Batman movies definitely better than that gay George Clone version. On a talk show George Cloney even said he played the character as if he was gay, that was why they had the nipples. Christian Bale was a much more realistic version, dealing with terrorists and poison gas things that could actually happen.

Ever since I first saw the trailer, It has been my belief that by the time everyone has seen Mr. Ledger's performance, Jack Nicholson will have a big, fat, neon sign over his head that says "HEATH LEDGER HAS JUST SUCCEEDED IN OUTDOING ME AS THE JOKER"

Musicman - They're two completely different portrayals. It all depends on how you see the joker. Nicholson was more of the prankster. Ledger is more of the psycho. So comparing them is kind of like comparing an apple and orange.

You have to be an actor to appreciate how great of a job Heath did as the joker. I mean from his line delivery to his body language you would never know this guy had a thick australian accent and was mild mannered. He wasn't perfect but he was damn near close which is virtually impossible. Kudos to Chris Nolan for imagining a joker in his late 20's and not in his 50's...love you jack N. but I would rather be killed by your laughing gas than by a bazooka or a knife up close.....but look at the bright side jack nicholson made 45 million dollars off of his joker and I ain't mad at him lol

Hi, There I have whiched both Jack Nickolson and Heath LEDGER playing the joker I love the way in the dark night the joker makes you feel what he says is the truth but in a another way hes very smart at turning the truth the way he wants it. Jack Nickolon was good but Heath Ledger was the joker in every way. He was just great and very good looking I thank Heath was a great actor. I thank he desives an oscar.GOD BLESS Rest in peace.
