The Dark Knight: The Joker’s New Look?

The JokerUpdate: Warner Bros has released the first official photo of Heath Ledger as The Joker at this link. Scroll down, it’s near the bottom.

don’t know why we assumed that Christopher Nolan was going to give us the same-old same-old Joker we’ve all become accustomed to. I mean, Heath Ledger wasn’t exactly the fans perfect choice for the role. We should have just expected something, different.

Now a scooper at BOF reports that Joker may look very very different in the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. According to the anonymous scooper, The Joker will have gray scarred skin, and a raggedy costume. Also, he’ll be much more darker than previous movie/television versions of the character (but that much we already expected). As always, no confirmation - take this bit of rumor with a grain of salt. The Dark Knight will hit theaters on July 18th 2008.
Note: The photo to the right is a fan creation.

  • The joker is the best villian. He always has something cool to say, and never really loses his head. Cool guy foor a bad guy. This willl be a refreshing new look for him.. I mean batman has changed like a million times, so its about time that everyone else changed with him.

    this looks awesome.
they finally mad the joker cool.
    i mean, he's a homicidal maniac.
the same old clown look just didnt reflect that.
he actually looks like he would want to kill people now.
    sweet.

    mmmmmmmm, not sure about this.
the picture looks a little too air brushed for my taste.
dont get me wrong, it looks ace but i dont think its the end result.
I cant wait to see what heath ledger will do with the joker, i think the guy is a very underrated actor.

The fan-created image looks heaps better than anything released by Warner Bros. So much so that the actual images released (namely, the one with the lipstick smear and the left cheek cut) look pathetic. Actually, they look pathetic on their own, too.

It's going to take a lot for Nolan to sell me on this one...

there was a poster almost like this one floating around for about 8 months or so with same backround but the joker is in a straight jacket and it saying not all jokes are funny very sick, so when i saw this was roughly the same i was hoping they would use this one or the one of him in the jacket which is even better. but i dont' like the picuter they have posted of him with his lipstick everywhere

Its a revamped version of the picture from the 1928 german silent film "The Man Who Laughs" starring Conrad Veidt. Hell, google image search the movie and you'll get an image of Veidt that is practicly the same... sans the color.

But praise be to Veidt for being the image that inspired Bob Kane to create the Clown Prince of Crime in the first place.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Well if you think about it. The Joker WAS supposedly horribly scarred in the fall into the card dye(ink?) that turned his skin white, and his hair green, and he did go to an underworld doctor to try to get the damage repaired, so the surgery should be botched and he should look scarred. Depending on my work schedule, I'll probably be at the midnight showing. I soooo have no life!

This photo is a copy of Conrad Veidt on "the man who laughs"

For i would cut the cheeks in half kinda forming a extended smile.(not to b gross!!!)I would make the Joker grusome and ugly!!! Make his blood shot red. U know make him crazy.... a character u dont want comin in yor house. Plus his teeth yellow. That would be a great Joker.
