Spider-Man 3

AICN has the first two reviews for Spider-Man 3. As far as I know, there hasn’t been a public screening of the film yet. I have reason to believe that the scoopers must be somehow connected to the upcoming Tokyo premiere (something is mentioned of the China censorship board).

The first review is mostly spoiler free, but does reveal that two major characters will die, and five major action scenes occur before the nearly two and a half hour film is done rolling. Of one of the deaths, the reviewer writes:

“I think it might piss off some fans but now that I think about it, I dont know how it could have ended differently.”

He says that Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock is the best of both worlds (Ultimate and Amazing), Gwen is a bit underused, Mary Jane is darker, and Harry’s plot has a Shakespearian arc: “you will love how it turns out, very emotional.”

It ends every major plot line and doesn’t leave much open, albeit it doesn’t really zip things shut either, but really this is a great ending. This is the most emotional, and epic entry in the series, and like its predecessors, it never loses sight that action is a bonus to the character drama, and not the main attraction, it really is amazing.

Another reviewer reveals way too much plot-wise. We’ll save you from the spoiler-filled details and give you the few opinionated bits:

Spider-man 3 is no doubt another visual feast, even more brilliant than the second film.

You’ll find it almost impossible to catch up with all the fantastic scenes.

So there you have it. From the look of it, Spider-Man 3 has outdone the last one, which I and many people consider to be the best superhero movie of all time. Spider-Man 3 hits theaters on May 4th 2007.

I HAD THIS GREAT IDEA OF A SPIDERMAN IMAX EXPIERIENCE. YOU KNOW HOW IMAX RELAESES THE NASCAR EXPERIENCE OR THE ALASKA ETC. WELL THEY SHOULD DO ONE WHERE SPIDERMAN IS IN THE CITY AND HE SWINGS HIS WAY THROUGH WHILE VILLIANS ATTACK FROM ALL SIDES OF HIM. THEY COULD DO IT IT IN CGI. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS HAS BEEN THOUGHT OF BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HERE WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT IT. SPIDERMAN 3 WILL BE AWESOME AND SHOULD BE BETTER THAN THE FIRST 2.

I loved it. I didn’t really like the other two that much (although my son LOVED them all). I thought it had a lot of great lessons - about succumbing to wanting revenge, forgiveness & friendship etc. and was beautifully done. I really loved it. I actually want to buy the movie when it comes out & see it again. I also though Topher Grace was magnificent. There were some funny parts too, not just dark. It was a tad bit too long. Loved it.

i don’t know what to think about it really. I think to judge it properly i’d have to watch it again. There has been a lot of bad reviews though comming up though….its making me rethink about how good the film really is. It made more money than spiderman 2 on the debut…which is good for them. But i knew as soon as i saw it many casual fans would be like “eh…whats the hells this alien thing”. But for the big fans such as myself its hard to think that and hate the film for it.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT BUT THE MOVIE WAS AWESOME EXCEPT FOR THE ENDING. I DID NOT FEEL IT LEFT ANYTHING OPEN.
FIRST OF ALL MARYJANE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE MAIN LOVE INTEREST OF PETER PARKER EVEN THOUGH GWEN STACEY WAS BEFORE HER BUT AS FAR AS THE COMICS ARE CONCERNED IT HAS BEEN MARYJANE. THE POSSIBILITIES WERE ENDLESS. THEY COULD OF KILLED OFF GWEN OR AUNT MAY BECAUSE IN E COMICS THEY DIE AS WELL, VENOM DOES NOT. HE SIMPLY IS CONTAINED BUT FINDS A WAY TO ESCAPE.YOU CAN ONLY MAKE A COMIC BOOK MOVIE LOOK SO REAL AND SPIDERMAN BY FAR HAS PROVEN THAT. NOW IF IT WAS ANIMATED THAN THERE IS NO STOPPING YOU ON WHAT YOU CAN OR CAN’T DO. ALL THE CHARACTERS WERE
EXPLAINED ENOUGH SO THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. SANDMAN STOLE MONEY TO HELP HIS SICK DAUGHTER. EDDIE BROCK/VENOM WAS PETER’S RIVAL AND HE EXPOSED HIM FOR WHAT HE WAS WHICH WAS A FAKE. EDDIE BLAMES PETER AND TRIES TO KILL HIM. THE MOVIE HAD SOME FUNNY PARTS AND OF COURSE THERE WRE PARTS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CUT OUT BUT YOU COULD SAY THE SAME FOR THE FIRST TWO. HELPS IF PEOPLE READ THE COMICS AS WELL AND UNDERSTAND. PEOPLE DON’T LIKE THE FACT THAT SPIDERMAN IS A HERO WITH REAL HUMAN EMOTIONS. GOD FORBID ANY SUPERHERO SHOWED ANY SIGN OF WEAKNESS. PETER PARKER IS SUPPOSED TO BE NERDY AND IF ANYONE READ THEY WOULD KNOW THAT.

ANOTHER POINT, SPIDERMAN HAS TEAMED UP WITH MANY SUPERHEROES IN THE COMICS WHICH COULD BE ADAPTED INTO THE FILM AS WELL. THE TITLE OF THE COMIC IS MARVEL TEAM-UP. THEY COULD OF DONE A SPIDERMAN VS HULK OR WOLVERINE. SPIDERMAN HAS ALSO TEAMED UP WITH THE FANTASTIC 4 AS WELL. ALSO THEY COULD OF DONE A CARNAGE AND VENOM IN ONE MOVIE. SPIDERMAN IS NOT THE STRONGEST SUPERHERO. HE GOT HIS ASS KICKED IN THE FIRST 2 MOVIES AS WELL, SO HE USUALLY HAS TO OUTSMART THEM. X-MEN WAS A GOOD MOVIE BUT THE COSTUMES WERE ALL IN BLACK. THEY HAVE TO STAY TRUE TO THE COMIC AND GIVE IT HE PROPER RATING AND IT HAS TO BLEND IN WITH THEIR
ENVIRONMENT. THEY HAVE TO USE A LOT OF CGI TO DO WHAT SUPERHEROES DO. SPIDERMAN BY FAR HAS BEEN THE BEST REALISTIC COMIC BOOK MOVIE BY FAR AND HAS PRETTY MUCH STAYED TRUE TO THE COMIC. MARYJANE WAS A PARTY GIRL BUT IS PORTRYED DIFFERENTLY IN THE MOVIE BUT WHO HAS ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE MAIN FOCAL POINT

I also thought the film was awesome and outdid the first two.

I was a little disappointed in the movie. I liked the other ones a lot better. I watch it for the love affair of Spiderman and MJ. They definately should be together forever! Love their chemistry!
PETE CURATO, JR. ARE YOU IN COLMAR!
IF SO, HOW’S IT GOING? HOW’S MARRIED LIFE!
    TAKE CARE!
