First Look: Jon Favreau’s Iron Man

Iron Man Movie Suit

I’m not quite sure where this image came from, one of our scoopers sent us it through gmail. Can anyone confirm if this is legit?

If so it is our first look at the Iron Man armor from Jon Favreau’s upcoming big screen adaption of the Marvel comic book series. Before you jump to conclusions, I’m sure this is a photo of the old school firs suit armor, and not the super advanced armor that Tony Stark will wear for the majority of the film. The rejected movie suit designs have shown something much more in line with the red and yellow comic book suit.

Iron Man hits theaters on May 2nd 2007.

    well IGN have got the iron man still up too so looks like its for real
  • If I was a betting man, I'd go with "authentic" vs. "fake." Looks close to the armor Iron Man wore in his early incarnation. Wikipedia has some cover art from the period. It also looks a lot like the early armor from "The Invincible Iron Man," Marvel Animations' third feature-length film.
  • Looks like a great rendition of Stark's early armor. I'm not sold on Downey, but I'm definitely looking forward to an Iron Man movie. I was lucky enough to hit the series golden age as a kid.
  • This one has been making its rounds of the movie blogosphere for about 24 hours now... I'd say it looks legit.

    Now, the more interesting thought is this: I don't know if I like the look of that suite. It looks very bulky, even for Iron Man. I don't know, maybe its just me, but I am not a huge fan of that particular look.
