R-rating (deservedly so!!) means less teenagers buying tickets and fewer parents bringing their 5 year old kids. A movie this gory and violent is going to attract a very niche audience. And yeah, "Death Proof" was slow to the point of making me want to gouge out my eyes with a spoon. In my review I recommended people leave after "Planet Terror". A number of folks walked out during the Tarantino flick and the only reason I sat through the whole thing was because I intended to write a review. Vic Three hour+ movie equals fewer showings.
