The teaser trailer for Rob Zombie’s re-imagining of the horror classic Halloween is now online. Check it out at Yahoo! Movies. The teaser gives us a good indication of what the film will be like. I like how it’s more about the early years and psychological origin of the character. It doesn’t look like the a strait out slasher. It looks like it has major promise.
Halloween hits theater on August 31st 2007.

Maybe I’m mistaken, but I can’t imagine fans of the original Halloween will want to see this. Maybe some, of course, but not all. Zombie is changing everything that was great about the original Halloween.
1) In the original, Michael comes from a normal, loving family. He’s kills his sister for no apparent reason. He is simply evil, and there is no real reason, and that is frightening. In the remake, they’re giving Michael a drugged out stripper for a mom, an abusive stepfather, and a whore for a sister. Gee. How original.
2) Young Michael is going to masturbate to pictures of dead animals… umm…………
3) Michael is going to talk while wearing the mask. Are you kidding me?
4) Michael is the size of a professional wrestler. He is no longer the stealthy, regular human known simply as “The Shape.”
5) The mask looks terrible. It’s barely even white, it’s filthy and it just looks awful.
6) The original Halloween has almost zero gore. It relies on atmosphere and suspense to frighten. Zombie’s Halloween is going to be a gore and nudity fest. It’s going to be ridiculous.
Why is Zombie even remaking this? Why doesn’t he just make his own damn killer movie if he’s changing nearly EVERYTHING that made the original Halloween great? Like I said, this is ridiculous.

My question is: why on earth would you release a movie called “Halloween,” about a series of Halloween-related killings … on August 31? History shows that you can htrow any turd of a horror-movie on a screen in October and it will kill. What’s the sense in putting this one up right before the first day of school?

It’s coming out at the end of summer to set itself apart from the October shitfest taht will include another Saw movie that deviated from it’s original path and probably another bang-up job of a film like Black Xmas. This isn’t about Halloween anymore. It’s about the origin of character. People aren’t scared of the “unknown” factor in films anymore. They want to know the reason behind the murderous behavior. Plus, I’m more frightened of a guy punching it to mutilated animals than I am a dude with a knife. I respect Zombie for what he’s doing. He’s turning a dead slasher-franchise into a psychotic, mindbending, sociopathic killer flick. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ORIGINAL HALLOWEEN. And Rob Zombie realizes he cannot change the brilliance of an original film, but he can deviate from and alter to a film that will serve the masses. But I’m bold enough to say you probably don’t realize that because you think carbon-copy remakes are the future. Find the oxy-moron, moron.

I think its a good idea to make another halloween but taking out all of the original features pisses me off. Adding gore is always a good thing so i think adding gore is cool but YOU went overboard with the whole i got a stripper for a mom and a abusiv step dad. When he killed his WHOLE family for no reason was awesome. Talking with his mask on is not masterbating to dead animals is not. Is this supposed of stupid comedy or a horror. If you screw this movie up as bad as it sounds, no one will want you to make another movie, and hopefully you wont.

Look gaylord, wait until the movie comes out and you can complain all you want. Rob Zombie didn’t set out to make a straight 100% accurate remake, it’s a reimagining of the original film. Duh it changes stuff. Maybe they’ve removed all the stuff that made it good, but maybe it will be good for entirely different reasons.

First off all of you except the people that are talking positive everyone thats negative can go suck a nut. 1. Michael doesn’t talk with his mask on or jerk off to dead animals..whoever mentioned was obviously thinking out loud what they like to do on their’ spare time. 2. Rob Zombie is simply telling the beginning which was never showed or exactly talked about in the originals yes I am a huge fan of the saga, but I think it’s good and the ideas arfe legit of what Zombie is developing because he’s not doing what every ohtwer director does just doing a complete scene for scene word for word remake, he’s opening new door ways for the film to be re-released but mostly fill you in on what was failed in the originals! Lemme ask you negative fucks something would you rather him just remake and copy it verbatem or create a whole new series , but still yet keep it in the family? Personally I would rather how it’s coming along. Plus I gurantee all you assholes talking shit will be the ones going the night before at 12am buying tickets to make sure you see it first!!!
