The full length theatrical trailer for Live Free or Die Hard is now online. Am I the only one who still prefers the original (now international) title, Die Hard 4.0?
Live Free or Die Hard takes place 18 years after the first film. John McClane (Bruce Willis) who must come out of retirement to battle an internet terrorist organization intending to systematically demolish or seize our technological infrastructure via a three-day plan. These guys will gradually step up malfunctions starting with traffic control systems, working towards economic markets, and finally shutting down key utilities like power and water, to send the U.S. essentially into a modern Dark Ages. Didn’t George Carlin have a joke about this?
The film is directed by music video turned Underworld series helmer Len Wiseman, and it shows. The actions sequences look intense. Did you see that car crash into the helicopter? And what about John McClane jumping onto a jet-fighter? One of my good friends who is a avid die hard fanboy is a little worried that the film doesn’t have the Die Hard “feel.” He says the John McClane character doesn’t reveal himself until the final seconds of the trailer, and I have to somewhat agree.
If you have time check out the High Definition version of the trailer at Yahoo! Movies. We also have some HD resolution photos below for those who don’t have the capability. Click for higher resolution.
Live Free or Die Hard hits theaters nationwide on June 29th 2007, just a few days before Transformers is unleashed.

I have to agree with you and your friend. Die Hard is my favorite movie of all time, and the entire series holds a dear position in my heart. Bruce Willis looks a little bit tired, contrasting with the high octane violence and action. I hope that McClane is still McClane-like and the film holds up to its predecessors.

#1 - yes I agree that DIE HARD 4.0 is a better title. Keeps more of the film’s equity in play and that’s probably why Internationally they kept it - they don’t have the marketing money to re-brand the franchise as it seems Domestic will be doing.
#2 - Although the trailer is well cut and shows a more stylized look to the franchise, I’m not convinced that Len Wiseman has done for this movie what Chris Nolan was able to do for the Batman Franchise. After all, they had motorcycles crashing into helicopters in movies as early as 1991 (STONE COLD starring Brian Bosworth)
