Grindhouse hits theaters on Friday, but we’re already talking about the eventual DVD release. Why? Because we know it’s going to be packed with special features. And how do we know? Robert and Quentin told us it would be.

The DVD release will feature the international extended cuts of each film.

Tarantino told us that Death Proof might actually clock in at at 115 minutes:

“I haven’t really done mine 100 percent but I think mine actually might be like half hour longer.”

While Rodriguez promises that his extended cut will be “about 15 almost 20 minutes longer.”

“I wanted to get mine to 80-85 minutes for the theatrical version so you wouldn’t be exhausted and ready to go home when mine was over. So that you would stick around for a second movie. I think my first cut was probably around 100 minutes. And just other scenes - a lot of the Serif and JT, other stuff with Cherry and the Doctor. A couple other scenes to fill it out.”

One of the subplots in Rodriguez’ Planet Terror involves a cook who plans to take his BBQ recipe to his grave. But fear not, Robert promises that the recipe will be included on the DVD in the return of his infamous “10 Minute Cooking School” feature.

“I’m going to start it with this quote: No Texan ever gives away his Barbecue recipe. He takes it to the grave! Then it says Ten Minute  Cooking School: Texas Barbecue… From The Grave!”

Robert also jokes that in a few years they might rerelease the films on DVD. He claims they will advertise the disc as featuring a “newly restored and re-mastered print” that would be completely clean of the Grindhouse scratches and jitter. We can’t wait.

Grindhouse hits theaters on April 6th 2007.

In 3 months time we will have “Death Proof” & “Planet Terror” on seperate discs all shiny and lovely but what happened 2 the Kill Bill vol.1 & vol.2 combined DVD… Tarantino & Rodriguez are classic teasers, anything goes I’m afraid. Bring on Inglorious Bastards I say.

The studio will be banking on the DVD to make money since it hans’t fared well at the box-office. Knowing Tarantino and Rodriguez, this is going to be a very loaded DVD.

Well, I just hope that Death Proof isn’t an 30 extra added of chick-talk time….sigh!

In the end, I personally don’t really care all that much of how the films will be released on DVD (either together or separately), because I’d be buying everything released anyhow!… BUT I REALLY do hope that the DVD(s) will get what it should deserve… extended films, and a whole whack of really great special features!!! (The fake trailers is an absolute MUST, and the “Hobo with a Shotgun” trailer has to be in there too… especially for those who didn’t get to see it outside of my country, Canada.)

I LOVED GRINDHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!! and help me for if Tarantino and Rodriguez release Grindhouse DVD as a split, I will be forced to find a bootleg cut of the theatrical version! Of course I’ll buy the editions that come out ,but I want to remember the magic I saw in the theaters!

Say no more… These people are sooooo full of them selves and all they want is A BIG bag FULL of money - so those bastards are going to make dozens of these special editions, dir. cuts and so on.

I wish it would be different. It won’t be, trust me.

    MONEY TALKS (AGAIN) AND BS…

Grindhouse was more than a film, it was an experience! The movie belong together with the faux trailers and the scratches. Releasing extended cuts are fine, but the Weinsteins need to stop being such dicks and release the theatrical version. Hell, make a collector’s set with the theatrical experience plus extended cuts of ea.
