Peter Sciretta's review missed that the story is taken from "Point of Impact", an excellent, nail-biting thriller written by Stephen Hunter. The problem is, Mark Wahlberg is NOT Bob Lee Swagger. In fact, the screenplay, the direction, and Wahlberg's wooden "acting" seem to work together purposefully to wring the very humanity OUT of Hunter's great fictional character. A folk hero for the ages is reduced to a vapid, posturing thug. For anyone who has read the book, this is one sad, sad movie.
