Dear Mr. or Mrs. Fish,

I have thought over my behaviour in the comments section of this blog and I have indeed realized you were right and I was so very, very wrong. I don’t know where to begin. First, I would like to thank you for pointing out so eloquently I was wrong. Your words helped me realize I acted rude, obnoxious and impolite. Second I would like to extend my gratitude to you for saving me from succumbing to the dark side, the path of the troll. I had only made two posts, but thanks to your wisdom you were able to see the truth. On behalf of myself and the rest of the internet, thank you. I still have much to learn and I take your words as guidelines for future behaviour. I realize now that my attitude was uncalled for. Even though no one had pissed on my parade, I still went way out of line. I should have indeed chilled a whole lot more that’s for sure. I hope one day I will learn to be as polite as you Mr. or Mrs. Fyodor_Fish.

I understand now that for many readers these pictures were indeed all new. I would like to apologise to Slashfilm.com and it’s readers for my negative comments. I’m sorry. Your post only had the best intentions of spreading cool pictures with your loyal readers. In hindsight I really don’t know what came over me. If only I could take my comments back.

Please give me a second chance in responding to the original post. My comment would be that I fully agree with Fyodor’s comment when he or she said “I want to see this now, please. That is all.” That is so very, very true and indeed all there is to say. It just perfectly sums up my feelings towards this film.

Again, thanks a lot Fyoder. If you have any more helpful tips, I would love to hear them!

It's used heavily on politically oriented blogs too. Plenty of wingers stepping in to stir things up. Latest development is the "concern troll," someone who seems supportive, but isn't, just trying to convince you to their point of view while undermining your own.

Really??? ...I had no idea. I mean...i agree with you about the rude behavior...but seriously...Imdb didnt coin the creation of that term. I have seriously never heard it anywhere else before. I feel so sheltered now :(

Zach, the word troll is used everywhere on the internet, not just IMDB. I'm pretty sure it didn't originate there. It probably originated years before that (I heard it on AOL seven or eight years ago). Whatever the source, I don't believe there's a place for rude behavior anywhere, least of all a movie site like Slashfilm.com.

Oh god...I never thought I'd seen the term "Troll" used outside of an Imdb message board.

But in all seriousness...seriously...chill out. I personally had never seen the pictures before...so they were new to me...and plus...they loooking fucking cool as all hell!!!

Fishy? Try Fyodor (you know, first name first and all), not fishy. As for your comments and my response I stand by them. Since you prefer to post anonymously, you obviously feel it's your god-given right to be rude and obnoxious. You're absolutely right. You can be as rude and obnoxious as you want, but that way lies being called a troll and being ignored, even when you have something valuable to add to the mix. Think it over. Once you do, I'm sure you'll realize I'm right and you'll respond accordingly.

I was only being helpful fishy. These pics are a year old (and I mean that literally), so they are by no means *NEW*. I can say whatever I want. Because those are 1. facts or 2. personal opinions. I don't see a problem in writing down either.

Wow dude. What's with the attitude? Who pissed on your parade? I'm sure the majority of Slashfilm.com's readers haven't seen them or seen them all in one place, so chill. And while you're sitting in the corner on a time out, learn how to be polite.

[...] I have this feeling deep down that Richard Kelly's Southland Tales is going to one of one of the best movies ever, right alongside of Donnie Darko. Sure there are skeptics, but I really think Richard Kelly will pull it off. And to fuel that fire even more, some new images have appeared courtesy of our friends over at SlashFilm, showing both the special effects that one month ago he was trying to get funding for, as well as early production art. If this really doesn't get you anxiously excited for Southland Tales, then I don't know what will (besides a trailer)! [...]

Stop wasting our time till you get something that's really new.
