The Hollywood Reporter editor Cynthia Littleton jumped ship to Variety. The trade is supposedly looking for a big BIG name replacement.

A new study shows that U.S. teenagers who watch a lot of R-rated movies or have unsupervised access to TV shows appear more likely than similar black youths to start smoking cigarettes.

Michael Bay’s Transformers will “be longer than people expect because it’s very entertaining,” says the film’s producer. So expect the movie to possibly clock in at over two hours (Bay hasn’t made a film under two since Bad Boys).

Mel Gibson is thinking of shooting a remake of the 1950 film noir Panic in the Streets in Panama.

M. Night Shyamalan responds to his Razzie “wins” for Worst Director and Worst Actor: “Look, I loved that movie. It’s a beautiful, beautiful movie. So there’s some disconnect from the intention to the perception of it. I hope, just with time, that will ease. All of my movies have benefited from time.” Someone needs to tell Shyamalan, his acting will never improve over time.

    WTF? You may not like his work, but where do you get off telling ANY artist that their performance can’t improve? That’s at the very center of most artistic process?
