There is a second film scheduled for release of Monsters, Inc. It was scheduled for theatrical release on June 10, 2011, but then something happened. Newt and The Bear and the Bow are to be released in 2011, and Cars 2 in 2012, so Monsters, Inc. 2 may be released sometime in the mid-2010s, or whenever an exact date is scheduled.

[...] On a related note, /Film got a hold of some production art from the movie (along with a handful of other upcoming Disney movies). Although it’s nothing more than concept work, it does look quite impressive and really gives an idea of the scale they’re shooting for. I have to admit I’m getting kind of psyched for this flick now, but I’ll still need to hear the name of a decent director mentioned before I can possibly believe this will be the first ever video game movie that doesn’t suck! » Related Link: /Film [...]
