Here’s a surprise, a geek director who doesn’t want to make a trilogy. Hostel director Eli Roth says he’s not interested in making a third Hostel film, for now at least.
“I don’t know. Sure the answer is it depends on how Hostel: Part II does,” revealed Roth. “For right now, I don’t want to make a bad Hostel III and I don’t want to force it. I feel like the story ends in Hostel: Part II and let’s just leave it at that right now.”
And may-be it all goes back to Academy Award nominated director Guillermo del Toro’s (Pan’s Labyrinth) advice.
“When I was asking about Cabin Fever if I should do a big budget movie or low budget movie, he just goes (in Toro’s voice): ‘Whatever gives you the biggest boner man. You have to wake up with a f**king rager. If you don’t have a boner, you can’t work.’ And I thought, ‘He’s right.’ You have to be that excited about the project you’re doing … and that was Hostel II.”
“I was so excited to do it, and I thought about that even with the Grindhouse trailer. I mean, I know people who are doing movies, and they are getting paid big paychecks to do them, and they are miserable. They have to think about this stuff. They don’t want to do it and no matter how much money they get paid, they’re still unhappy people. On Hostel, I think my salary was $10,000, and I didn’t care. I was just going to do it and have fun. The Thanksgiving for Grindhouse trailer I did for free and it was still the most fun I’ve ever had shooting anything. The truth is, if you do what you love; the money, none of that matters.”

Meh, in theory Eli Roth should be one of my favorite new filmmakers. He walks the walks, talks the talk but I can’t get into any of his films. Grindhouse should be be balls-deep fun however.

Come On…..Hostel 2 was unique, although not quite as surprising like the first one. The last 15 minutes was quite the surprise with the victim becoming a new member of the Hound Club. I think you should make a 3rd Hostel, but this time, use a African American males as the victims…you know the hip hop type. It would be good, cause it also would be interracial sex scenes and then they get killed. I think a 3rd movie has to be made…but use blacks this time…..it would really blow people’s mind.

I dont care if hostel three wont be as good as the first or secound. Or even if it does ruin the other two in any way. Two is not enough. Its a very intersting concept and i hope to see more. There is still much more about the bloodhound organization, and i feel that the third should do a total perspective from the killers side.

i heard eli roth is not doing hostel 3 but lionsgate is looking at other directors, Robert Sexton and jeffery lynn ward have already turned down the job! and if anyone asks, i do not work at lionsgate!!!! (wink)

lets be honest hostel 2 was really poor, hostel 1 was quite good as it was something new but it was kind of just the same in hostel 2 except with women, I think you could make hostel 3 really good. you should of made hostel 2 so that the guy goes back with a gang and destroys all the hunting club and captures the leaders and tourters them.

It will be hostel3 for sure.100 percent.Why? It will make money.
Because people need this stuff to live out their sick mind.And I am sure there are a club out there just like that in the movie.This is a rotten world,where money talks.Too bad u guys made east europe look like a place where all this happens…..USA is still no 1 in everything, good or bad.Happy ending thought…Bruce Willis With Steven Segall will clean up all them sickos at the end….if somebody will finance it…

you did PART II now paid the price i saw the first HOSTEL and i felt that it needed no followup that ending was cool (and the story too) i think that you hab to make HOSTEL PART III and end that trilogy if you want to make it to the big leagues , or be like james cameron it ended with T2 and said now i make TITANIC and hab a lot of money now the terminator fans can go to hell and that what we did with T3 and mr. big shot dont do movies enymore, because you wanted fans so now you got them the last thing that you need in your (short) career right now is to turn your back at them………

Hostel 2 was a disappointment. The starting nightmare for Paxton should have been real for Paxton’s end instead of some 007 assasin went all the way from Europe to kill him.
There wasn’t enough guts and gore compared to part 1, instead Eli keep focusing on some drama between the 2 friends going to kill was boring. Little was explained why they were looking for Amerrican girls to kill.
The ending should be that Eastern European girl on the chair in the room with the last victim starting her torture. Using the kids’ to lure her and cut off her head was too weak.
