The Simpsons Movie in 2D

The plot of The Simpsons Movie has been a highly guarded secret. Why? We have no idea. The three teaser trailers and leaked comic-con animatics don’t reveal much at all in terms of story. IMDb doesn’t even have a plot synopsis. So when Microsoft accidently spoiled the plot, I was surprised.

The Simpsons Movie on X-Box Live

The picture above (courtesy of Beldan) shows the X-Box Live description for The Simpsons Movie: “When Homer accidentally pollutes the river with toxic waste from the nuclear power plant he gets fired from his job and everyone has to evacuate Springfield, possibly forever.

Sounds compelling, but not much more so than the typical episode. Am I the only one who thinks this film would have been huge 10 years ago? Now it just seems like a sad ploy for money.

To be honest, im not fussed about what the story is, more interested in how the classic characters are used in the movie. What would i give to hear bart say “don’t have a cow man” or “eat my shorts”on the big screen (since he never says them anymore on the small screen). aslong as the characters are placed in funny and classic situations along the way, who gives a shit about the plot. I WANT CALSSIC SIMPSONS, not a bloody gone with the wind epic.

Of all the clips I have seen and of all the rumours I have heard, I think the plot will be something like this:
The movie begins in a quiet desert somewhere in Mexico where we are introduced to a new character who is the main villian of the movie who is a vulgur, motor mouthed clever but often naive and inept mastermind leader of an Terrorist organization. He explains to his terrorist group that the US President is visiting a small North Kentucky town called Springfield for an election speech where he will travel to the town and assassinate the President and frame the town for it in order for American to be consumed with turmoil and fear and will strike against each other.
A terrorisgt member points out: “Assassinating the President will be challenging, no American will let an outsider near him”
The villian replies: “Oh yeah, show me one average hero in this stinking country who can stop me”
We are then introduced to the greatest hero in American history- Homer Simpson who has just woken up in bed and realized he’s two hours for work. In an action epic slapstick sequence, Homer rushes out his house and road rages through Springfield to the power plant but he somehow ends up back at his house D’OH!
Things are slightly changing now in Springfield, Bart is nearly 11, Skinner is thinking of retiring from been principal and a Mayor election is approaching between Mayor Quimby and a new rich resident in Springfield who is a funny guy but often arrogant who makes humorous jokes about Quimby.
Now that Bart is growing up, Homer begins to teach him tasks about adult hood, including nailing the house roof!
A now desperate corrupt Mayor, Quimby seeks help from Mr Burns to kill the new guy, but Mr Burns refuses saying that a few jokes do no harm.
The new mayor tells a joke on TV about Mr Burns as the president. After hearing the joke, Mr Burns becomes angry and orders his personal hitmen to kill him. But Smithers stops them by bribing them no to do it.
Meanwhile, Bart is 11 and is having a huge slumber party at Milhouse’s house, where Bart accidently burns the house down. After hearing the bad news at the plant, Homer turns into Angry Dad. Meanwhile, Smithers confesses to Mr Burns of what he’s done where Burns turns angry and shoots Smithers in the chest. He then steals a car from the plant- Homer’s car, where he violently road rages through Springfield, knocking several people over and crushing many things heading for the Town Hall until he runs over Ralph Wiggium. Mr Burns drives off and dumps the car in the river.
Homer is arrested while up to 30 people are put in hospital, where Mr Burns tells the police he saw Homer shoot Smithers. Homer is sent to court and is sentenced to 25 years in jail, where he meets his prison mate- Hank Scorpio.
The main villian arrives in Springfield, where he plans on shooting the President from the power plant whilst Mr Burns shoots and kills the new Mayor with a sniper rifle from the plant just before the President arrives.
Because Mayor Quimby visited the power plant for a safety inspection, the police arrest him for shooting the new mayor, where Mr Burns says he witnessed it. After the President arrives in Springfield, Hank Scorpio’s army also arrive and break Hank out of the prison, along with all the other prisoners. Homer heads to the power plant to confront Mr Burns. While the President gives a speech to the town, the villian knocks out Mr Burns in his office and prepares to shoot the President, until Homer steps in where the villian shoots Homer but the bullet hits Homer’s stomach, bounces off and hits the President, killing him.
Homer and the villian have a fistfight brawl in the office, where they move out in the corridors until they crash through the floorboard and into the reactor core. The villian knocks Homer out, causing the reactor plant to self destruct. The villian flees where Mr Burns realizes everything that he has done and has remorse, where he drags Homer out of the plant and shuts the power off to the plant before he dies as his first act of redemption.
The reactor plant overflows with nucleur waste, where the plant pops and the waste leaks out into the river and toxifies it. Homer runs back and hides in his house, whilst the town’s people blame Homer for everything and head to the Simpsons house to kill Homer. After the mob attack and destroy the Simpsons’ house, they kidnap Homer while the villian kidnap Homer’s family. Homer escapes from the mob and goes on a personal quest to rescue his family and save America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know where the nuclear waste idea is coming from. In one of the clips it shows homer with a silo in his backyard that says “pig crap”. Marge of course responding to this, asks homer to dispose of the waste properly, Homer agrees. It then cuts to homer driving down the hill to Springfield river with a bunch of signs saying “No dumping garbage, don’t even think about it, have you no heart?, stop dammit stop, bastard!” homer then cuts the silo off the top of the car and pollutes springfield’s river and calmly says… “this feels so right”. You can see this clip at the begining of season 9’s 1st disc. There is some plot sorrounding pigs, and something to do with burns at the power plant, and Erin Brockovich is in the movie to clean springfield. As it also looks a dome is built over the city to stop the contamination further. so don’t worry there are tons of celebs from the new trailer that I have seen, a huge plot and lots of funny scenes

In the new theatrical trailer, the narrator says that a secret will be revealed in the movie, which will mostly be centred around the Simpsons, the cizitens and Springfield and could open up various clues to the ending of the Simpsons. I noticed in the trailer, it showed Homer is standing in a place full of snow where an Indian statue of some kind shoots out the ground, some Native Americans give Homer something that makes him shoot fire, and did anyone else notice Homer was swirling his car around in the ground as the mob were paniking with the Simpsons house looking smashed up aqnd looked like it was sinking into the ground

I think this is the secret:

We learn that Springfield is located in a historical and sacred area, possibly on an ancient Indian site, and perhaps something beneath the ground is disturbed and causes enviromental and natural disasters and Springfield caves in on it’s self.
Or do you think the movie will link to the Trash of the Titans episode because at the end of that episode, the townspeople moved 5 miles or something down the road and left their old town a garbage infested waste land with Native Americans unhappy with it, so do you think those Native Americans will return to seek revenge and destroy Springfield for destroying their land- this movie could be a spinoff sequel to Trash of the Titans in the way Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was with the Star Trek episode Space Seed

    Personally, I don’t believe it.
On the IMDb forums, someone actually commented that they made up the pssibly forever part.
